Job Title: Equity Research Associate - Emerging Immunology
Reports to: Sr. Equity Research Analyst

Salary Range: $110,000-$170,000We are seeking a highly talented individual to add significant value to our equity research team. This individual will work closely with senior research professionals to assist in preparing and executing analyses of specific areas within biotechnology, with a focus on companies developing novel immunology therapeutics. The ideal candidate will possess a strong sense of intellectual curiosity, passion for both biotech innovation and the stock market, and the ability to be a strong team player in a fast-paced environment. Previous sell side associate experience is strongly preferred.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:- Formulate investment recommendations based on fundamental analysis, valuation and risk assessment of individual companies
- Leverage scientific and financial mindset in writing research reports on companies for distribution to the Leerink sales force and institutional clients
- Collect and analyze data (i.e., scientific papers, clinical trial data) related to novel therapeutics in immunologic diseases
- Interview company executives and medical/industry experts to develop and maintain sources of information in preparation of analyses
- Build, update and maintain financial models to inform investment recommendations
- Keep up to date on all sector-relevant market news and medical meeting presentations
- Answer inquiries from firm personnel and external clients
- Support senior equity research professionals by attending events of special interest (i.e., medical conferences, investor meetings)
Experience and Qualifications:- Qualified candidates must be hard-working self-starters with a passion for leveraging their medical/scientific background and financial modeling skills towards equity research
- Medical or scientific background: Minimum BS or MS level required, PhD or MD preferred
- Financial background strongly preferred: 1+ years of sell-side associate experience preferred, with relevant licensing exams (SIE, Series 86/87, Series 63) completed
- Industry/business experience is a plus: 1+ years of experience at a leading consulting form, or 1+ years of experience in a business development or corporate strategy role at a pharmaceutical or biotech firm
- Familiarity and knowledge of the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries including clinical development, regulatory affairs, business development, and commercialization
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to search, understand and interpret scientific and medical publications
- Strong quantitative, financial modeling, forecasting and Excel skills
