Essential Functions:
- Identifies ergonomic hazards in the workplace by analyzing injury and illness reports, workers' compensation claims data and OSHA records, and implements solutions to prevent and control hazards.
- Develops and maintains ergonomic programs to prevent injuries, which includes identifying ergonomic risks such as repetitive tasks, improper work setup, and improper use of tools. Evaluates program effectiveness, ensures continuous improvement and long-term success of programs.
- Collaborates with Human Resources, Safety, and other departments to integrate ergonomic principles into workplace policies and procedures.
- Conducts and facilitates training for internal personnel on ergonomic standards and best practices.
- Conducts ergonomic assessments of workstations and tracks and reports assessment findings, recommendations and solutions.
- Creates and maintains monthly reports tracking assessments per division, equipment costs, type of assessment, and reason for assessment.
- Conducts ergonomic job analysis of positions using various methods to analyze job tasks and risk factors. Analysis may include time and motion studies, force measurement, postural analysis and standardized evaluation tools (e.g. NIOSH lifting equation).
- Analyzes ergonomic trends for preventing injuries and musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs). Implements measures for injury prevention such as engineering controls, administrative and work practice controls and personal protection equipment (PPE).
- Creates educational ergonomic tips and techniques for online newsletters, social media and printed communication materials.
- Monitors and assesses workplace injury and illness data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Participates in the development and review of safety and health policies and procedures.
- Helps plans, schedules, executes, and evaluates health and wellness programs to ensure continuous year-round opportunities for employees to become educated and participate in programs related to physical, financial, social, and emotional well-being.
- Collaborates with various company departments and external vendors to execute health and wellness goals.
- Helps develops health and wellness communication materials.
- Performs other related duties and projects as business needs require at direction of management.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology, Human Factors, Exercise Physiology, Health Promotion, Health Science, or a related field.
- Minimum three (3) years' experience in Ergonomics, Wellness, Safety or related experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Special Requirements/Certification:
- First Aid/CPR Certification.
- Ergonomics Certification.
Pay Range: $28.00/hr to $32.00/hr
