Title:ERP Support SpecialistDepartment:NJTPAReports To:Director, Information Technology, NJTPAPosition Type:StaffPosition Summary:Under the direction of the Director ofInformation Technology, the ERP SupportSpecialist provides technical support in advancing NJTPA's enterpriseresource planning (ERP) systems, including but not limited to its SAP systemand business intelligence platforms. Responsibilities include technical support of the ERP systems' lifecycles (analyses, design, development, programming, implementation,optimization, testing, integration, and maintenance of applications), andfunctional support. The incumbent must have a sense of ownership to ensuresmooth daily operation of all ERP applications. This role requires workingclosely with cross-functional teams, consultants, and partner agencies toidentify business requirements, address information system needs, assesssolutions, and solve ad-hoc information systems performance issues.In addition, the ERP SupportSpecialist helps develop strategies to fully leverage the ERP systems andother technologies to improve business processes and create internalefficiencies in its operations. The incumbent assists in the overallday-to-day control of NJTPA's ERP systems' projects and coordination of teamresources, balancing the needs for program success with available resourcesand the skills and capabilities of staff and consultants. The incumbent willkeep abreast of emerging technology trends and take an active interest inprofessional development to ensure their skills stay current and to educate the IT team on new technology.All duties will need to be performed inaccordance with university policies, procedures, and core values. Thisposition may occasionally require work outside of normal business hours toaddress information systems failures and/or meet program and projectdeliverables.Essential Functions:- Provide technical support tomaintain, advance, and integrate NJTPA's ERP systems. - Maintain ERP/SAP systemlicenses. - Provide timely ERP user assistanceand technical support in resolving issues. - Analyze functional andcross-functional business process needs and development of process improvementrecommendations. - Work closely with end users toidentify, analyze, and deploy core business processes and workflows tointegrate into the ERP/SAP systems and business intelligence platforms. - Assist in the modification of procedures or changes in system integrations orapplications to improve ERP/SAP systems performance.- Review detailed technicalspecifications for software development, implementation, and/or integrationinto existing application infrastructure. - Work with third party vendors and consultantsproviding ERP/SAP system licensing and support services.Additional Functions:-Ensure full and efficientutilization of NJTPA's ERP/SAP systems by reviewing and evaluating systemdesign methodologies and strategies, validating data inputs, generating userreports, and identifying and installing automated workflow processes and enhancementsto improve the user experience, consistent with best practices. - Create KPI dashboard on ERP systemperformance and user adoption, including benefit cost analysis and userfeedback for management review. - Develop and maintain a strong understandingof the organization's financial transactions, reporting, and accountingstructure. - Assist with deployment andmaintenance of SAP GUI interfaces and reports, including SAP Fiori and BItools and dashboards to improve user experience, data sharing, and reportdevelopment. - Assist with data integration andconversions, including integration of SAP human resource, finance, andprocurement data. - Monitor and report routine ERP/SAPsystem performance. - Devise or modify standard operatingprocedures, methodologies, and guidelines for the ERP/SAP systems' users andadministrators, including, best practices, data, architecture, security,quality, maintenance, and enhancement protocols. - Perform other related duties asassigned.Prerequisite Qualifications: - Bachelors' degree in computerscience, information systems, or a related field is required. - Minimum three (3) years' experiencein software design, development, and production methodologies, datamanagement, and systems integration technologies - including at least two (2)years of experience with ERP systems and Business Intelligenceplatforms. - Demonstrated knowledge of thedeployment, configuration, and support of ERP systems, with a focus onfinancial management and accounting systems.- Working knowledge of standardhardware/software in a desktop/server environment, including MS WindowsServer operating system, MS Office Suite and Office 365, SQL database, MSPower BI, Cognos, and Crystal Reports.- Demonstrated business analytics,technical analysis, software development, planning, and organizationalskills. - At the university's discretion, the education and experienceprerequisites may be exempted where the candidate can demonstrate to thesatisfaction of the university, an equivalent combination of education andexperience specifically preparing the candidate for success in the positionPreferred Qualifications:- Masters' Degree in computer science,information systems, or a related field.- Experience with ERP tools designedfor project-based, grant funded businesses.- Experience with SAP S/4 HANA, Fiori,BI, and Lumira. /- SAP Certification.- Strong understanding of Information Systemsmanagement best practices. - Change management skills. - Strong problem-solving skills andthe ability to identify and resolve issues quickly. - Strong written and oralcommunication skills. - Self-motivated with ability to workwell independently, as well as collaboratively with cross-functional teams.Bargaining Unit:PSARange/Band:25FLSA:ExemptFull-Time
