General Summary:

Qualcomm has set an ambitious goal to reach net-zero global emissions for Scopes 1, 2, and 3 by 2040. This position will focus on our carbon footprint and environmental data management including Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) to support our net-zero target as well as annual greenhouse gas (GHG) accounting across Scopes 1, 2, and 3, external reporting, regulatory compliance approach, disclosure and verification, and water strategy. The ideal candidate should have a strong attention to detail, be able to thrive in a fast-paced atmosphere and have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Environmental Data:

  • Be the expert for all GHG emissions data (Scope 1, 2 & 3) in line with the GHG Protocol to ensure evolving regulatory requirements are met.
  • Support internal tracking, measurement and reporting on GHG emissions.
  • Validate climate-related data with internal stakeholders.
  • Support regular quality control audits of environmental data being gathered across the business to ensure completeness and accuracy.
  • Support review and assessment of new methodologies, claims and frameworks as needed.

Product Sustainability / Life Cycle Assessment (LCA):

  • Lead and project manage the LCAs to assess the environmental impacts associated with all stages of a product or process, from raw material extraction through production, use, and disposal.
  • Partner with key internal stakeholders to develop and operationalize standardized processes for Product sustainability / LCA related data collection, analysis and reporting.

Engagement:

  • Support cross-functional working group(s) dedicated to operationalizing Climate Change Working Group; cultivate collaborations with cross-functional internal stakeholders to carry out GHG reduction strategies.
  • Partner with key internal stakeholders (Engineering, QREF, RF360, Procurement, IT, etc.) to support development of reporting & analytics on topics such as: Energy efficiency, renewables, re-use and recycling, circular economy packaging, colocation data center sustainability, and others.
  • Support efforts to collaborate and enhance activities, policies, and procedures in support of existing and new environmental initiatives.
  • Support efforts to engage with value chain stakeholders by preparing coordinated and validated responses to ESG/environmental inquiries.

Net Zero:

  • Support decarbonization efforts and manage environmental sustainability strategy as it relates to Scope 1, 2 and 3 GHG emissions reductions.
  • Research, apply and implement relevant best in class methods and practices collaboratively with suppliers, facilities, and product teams.
  • Monitor environmental market developments and benchmarking for trends and best practices to inform Qualcomm's corporate responsibility strategy.

Others:

  • Support the development of new sustainability goals through the creation of disclosure roadmaps, including data and metric gap assessment, stakeholder alignment, and process implementation.
  • Support environmental regulatory monitoring and compliance.
  • Support global water strategy, program management and other related initiatives.
  • Develop a narrative for climate- and environmentally-related disclosures, reports, including the annual Corporate Responsibility Report, responses to requests for information.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Government Affairs, Business, Political Science, Public Policy, Public Affairs, Engineering, Legal, or related field.
  • 3+ years of Government Affairs, Communications, Industry Associations, or related work experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science/Policy, Business Administration or a related discipline.
  • 5-8 years of experience in sustainability data analysis and management.
  • 5-8 years of experience working with greenhouse gas emissions data and climate risks assessments in the corporate context.
  • Subject matter expertise in GHG accounting.
  • Experience with the GHG Protocol, TCFD, SBTi, SASB, CDP and other sustainability reporting frameworks is preferred.
  • 3+ years in product sustainability and product LCA.
  • Master's degree in related field.
  • Understanding of global and regional environmental regulatory landscapes.
  • Familiarity with ESG/Sustainability best practices in Semiconductor and/or Data Center industry.
  • Excellent data analysis skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong background with Office Suite (Excel/Power BI, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Proven understanding of climate accounting and integrating climate risks into corporate strategy.
  • Experience with assurance activities.
  • Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative and team-oriented environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong project management skills.

Pay range and Other Compensation & Benefits: $113,600.00 - $170,400.00

The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location for which it has been posted. Even more importantly, please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Qualcomm. We also offer a competitive annual discretionary bonus program and opportunity for annual RSU grants (employees on sales-incentive plans are not eligible for our annual bonus).
