The teacher provides learning experiences that engage students in language arts, math, science/technology/engineering, social studies, and social-emotional learning guided by the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks and district standards and requirements. The ESL Teacher facilitates English language acquisition and the academic, social and behavioral supports for students who are English Language Learners through direct service, collaboration, consultation, and coaching. The English Language Learner department of the Westborough Public Schools is dynamic and inclusive. We welcome candidates who thrive as part of a diverse, collaborative team.QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education: Bachelor's and/or Master's degree from an accredited college/university in a related field
- Professional Certification:
- MA DESE licensure in ESL, K-6 required, and 7-12 preferred
- Additional certification in special education and/or Elementary Education highly desirable
- All appointments are conditional based on a satisfactory CORI and SAFIS background checks per 603 CMR 51.00
Preferred Experience:
- Experience teaching English Language learners and in a diverse public school setting
- Experience with students with special needs, including students with emotional, behavioral, and/or learning challenges
- Knowledge of WIDA Standards and language objectives
- Strong background in language acquisition instruction
- Strong background in literacy and math instruction,
- Highly desirable to have experience with:
