MUST HAVES:

  • 3+ years of valuable experience in the luxury construction space
  • Background in the high-end luxury construction space and program work space PROJECTS (projects for Swarovski, Gucci, Tory Burch, Louis Vuitton, Walmart, Target, Chick-fil-a, Cartier, Chase Bank, etc.) ; not coming from those companies, but projects for those companies
  • Coming from smaller construction companies with less than 1,000 employees
  • General Contracting (GC) Estimator experience
  • Knowledge of all trade estimations (ex: mechanical, electrical, plumbing, drywall, etc. ; not just one specific trade)
  • Estimator experience with medium sized to larger projects ($2-$10 million dollar projects); 10-15 projects a year
  • Ability to compile complete estimates and hard bid packages with trade breakdowns (the ability to estimate almost down to the penny)
  • Strong time management, fast paced environment, and organization experience (hit deadlines and experience with multiple bids in different stages)
  • Strong presentation skills and ability to lead or participate meetings with stakeholders, subcontractors, clients, owners, and architects as needed
  • Procurement and MS Project scheduling experience
  • Demonstrated proficiency in reading commercial construction plans and specifications

  • Shawmut or Michilli background experience
  • Sage/ Timberline software skills
  • High Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, MS Project, Word, Powerpoint, and Outlook

Day-to Day:

A client in Rye Brook, NY is looking for an estimator to work onsite at their either their Rye Brook, NY , New York City, or Irvine, CA location. They will be reporting to the Estimating Manager and Director of Estimating. You will be responsible for preparing detailed conceptual budgets and estimating from pre-construction, concept design, and design development documents. You will perform detailed take-offs of all trades alongside initiate and manage the entire bid process inclusive of the preparation of a detailed bid package within the construction management and general contractor space. Specifically, responsibilities will include ensuring accurate and proper submissions and proposals by all subcontractors (ensuring that the bids include/ exclude key components and the bids line up to a tee of what is needed from the certain subcontractor for that part of the project), and level subcontractor bid proposals for accuracy and gaps. In addition, you will also build and maintain vendor relationships, communicate with stakeholders, collaborate with engineers, architects, clients, and subcontractors. You will work collaboratively with a field team to communicate deliverables and procurement schedules, prepare the scope of work documentation by division, and conduct on-site walk-throughs as needed.
