REPORTS TO: Hard Bid Estimating Manager
POSITIONS SUPERVISED: None
TRAVEL REQUIRED: 10-15%
WORK SCHEDULE: Day Shift (Occasional Night Meetings and Overnight Travel)
SALARY RANGE: 70K - 100K (based on experience)
POSITION SUMMARY
The estimator position is designed to be an entry-level role that introduces the employee to the company culture, provides a foundation to be successful, and grows the individual into a future leader of the Estimating Department. Typically, an estimator will be responsible for estimating 35 to 55 projects a year, with an approximate value of $1 million to $10 million per project, depending on the difficulty of the project. It is expected that the individual demonstrates the commitment to learn and the passion to be a valuable contributor to the team.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
* Soliciting subcontractors for projects
* Quantity takeoff on projects
* Subcontractor contact and verification
* Subcontractor scope review
* Creating and fulfilling the final bid day solution
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
* Bachelor's degree in a construction-related field or any combination of education and professional experience that would meet the responsibilities listed above.
* One to three years of experience in a construction-related field is desirable.
* Ability to quickly analyze, interpret, and compare detailed and often inadequately defined information.
* Ability to make reliable and accurate conclusions based on information gathered.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Primarily an office environment with periodic visits to manufacturing sites or other construction-related sites.
