- Position Overview: The Estimator MEP is responsible for providing accurate estimates for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) projects. The Estimator MEP will review and analyze project drawings, research materials, and specifications in order to provide accurate estimates. The Estimator MEP is expected to provide timely and accurate information to the sales team, project managers, and clients.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze project drawings, research materials, and specifications to provide accurate estimates.
- Prepare detailed estimates for MEP projects.
- Identify discrepancies between the project requirements and the estimate.
- Evaluate alternative solutions to determine the most efficient and cost-effective option.
- Perform value engineering to reduce project costs.
- Create take-offs and develop quantity lists for all projects.
- Prepare and maintain accurate and up-to-date project records.
- Communicate with sales team, project managers, and clients regarding estimates.
- Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in engineering or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in estimating MEP projects.
- Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
- Excellent math and analytical skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and estimating software.
