Estimator/ Project Manager – Metal Fabrication IndustryCustomer focused custom manufacturer in the specialty metal fabrication industry, is in need of an Estimator/ Project Manager. The successful candidate will have metal fabrication and roll bending experience as well as strong customer relationship skills and the ability to plan, organize and manage multiple job orders in a time sensitive manner.The successful candidate will have an understanding of commercial construction and metal fabrication processes and the ability to work with and assist purchasing agents, architects and contractors in the specification, planning and design phase of a project. Essential Duties Work with customer personnel to understand product/part specification. Prepare cost estimates, delivery schedule and sales terms in response to quote requests. Follow up with customer to maintain status of quotes and deliveries. Apply knowledge of company capabilities and operations to determine material and labor hours needed for completion of job. Establish material requirements, vendor and subcontract selection, purchase materials and subcontract services. Create production routing for use in scheduling and work flow. Monitor and manage multiple jobs through all stages of the production process. Review completed jobs, price for billing and resolve customer issues. Provide improvement recommendations to cost estimating procedures to reduce future discrepancies between estimated and actual costs. Conduct special studies to establish cost data or effect cost reduction. Establish new accounts through cold and hot leads. Job Experience Five or more years experience as an estimator-project manager in a specialty metal fabrication environment; Experience with CAD technology and fixture design preferred; Demonstrated ability to effectively manage projects from concept to completion; Ability to read architectural and structural plans ; Experience with ERP software; Proficient skills in Microsoft Office.
