Job DescriptionThe Profile School District is looking for qualified applicants for a night custodian. The hours for this position are 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM.Position Duties and ResponsibilitiesExcept as specifically noted, the following functions are considered essential to this position:Respond to appropriate requests related to position for assistance from staff, students and community members in a prompt,efficient and courteous manner.Be responsible, reliable and punctual.Maintain respectful and courteous relations with staff, students and community members.Adhere to appropriate dress code for the site and job.Adhere to schedule for routine tasks and assigned responsibilities.Be proactive in scheduling work and responding to issues.Exercise positive problem solving behavior and conflict resolution skills in dealing with non-routine and non-scheduled events.Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in a supervisory capacity.Keep buildings and premises, including sidewalks and play areas neat, clean and safe.Sweeps and/or vacuums classrooms daily.Cleans corridors daily and more often as their conditions require.Scrub and disinfect toilets floors daily. Clean all sanitary fixtures, classrooms sinks and drinking fountains daily. Also clean spillsand accidents which may involve bodily fluids.Move, clean and wash furniture and equipment as needed.Participate in all types of trash removal, empty receptacles, replace bags.Clean and maintain custodial equipment daily as needed.Understanding and ability to demonstrate protocols for handling chemicals, body fluids, cleaners and equipment.Participate in in-service programs, trainings and workshops.Maintain security and safety during school functions including opening and closing building and responding to safety issues suchas ice and snow removal from walkways.Perform duties which may be assigned by the Facilities Director and/or Maintenance Custodian.Adhere to schedule, but be flexible to respond to needs.Handle emergency custodial duties for staff, students and community members promptly and efficiently.Regulate heating and ventilation to provide temperatures appropriate to the season and to ensure economical usage of fuel, water and electricity.Follows all federal, state, and SAU policies, laws, and procedures that pertain to the work place.Necessary Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesKnowledge of basic custodial procedures and ability to complete assigned tasks within work timeSkills are required to perform multiple, technical and non-technical tasks with a potential need to upgrade skills in order to meetchanging job conditions.Specific skills required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: operating equipment used in industrialmaintenance including electrical cleaning equipment, common tools, etc.; and adhering to safety practices.Ability to understand and carry out verbal and written instructions.Ability to carry out duties with minimum of supervision.Ability to work with a wide diversity of individuals.Ability to perform a variety of routine, repetitive cleaning tasks and semi-skilled tasks.Able to work independently and problem solve.Is flexibleAbility to work as part of a team.Job RequirementsTo be considered for this position please include the following:Cover LetterResumeThree letters of reference
