  • High school diploma or equivalency required.
  • Five years custodial experience with three years supervisory and the ability to work independently.
  • 2nd Class Boiler license preferred.
  • Unlicensed Electrician Registration required or must be willing to obtain within three months.
  • Experience working with school mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Demonstrated strong supervisory, leadership and problem solving skills.
  • Must be physically qualified to perform assigned duties including lifting up to 50lbs on a regular basis and display flexibility in cleaning assignments.
  • Ability to communicate in a clear, positive manner with staff, students and the public.
  • Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Must have a desire to work in a cooperative manner and team environment.
  • Must have a good attendance record and be punctual.
  • Must have positive work performance evaluations. Must not have any recent disciplinary actions.
  • Must conduct a positive interview and receive a good reference from current and previous supervisors.
  • Demonstrated experience and proficiency working with a culturally, ethnically, racially and socioeconomically diverse school community is preferred.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Responsible for all evening shift cleaning, maintenance and providing work direction to custodians assigned to the evening shift.
  • Keep accurate attendance records, evaluate the job performance of employees and report same to Building Engineer.
  • Available to work for building chief during the day as necessary.
  • Assist with grounds duties, pick up trash, mow, pull/spray weeds, snow removal, etc.
  • Inspect each area daily for quality and quantity of work performed.
