Base pay starting at $20.25/hr, additional compensation for higher education/experience in the field up to $23.58/hr. If you answered YES, then consider joining our Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health team In response to the humanitarian crisis at Americas ports of entry, Devereux provides short-term shelter care services for unaccompanied children who have come to the United States without a parent or legal guardian. Devereux will provide extremely high-quality, trauma-informed residential and educational services for unaccompanied children, with intense supports for their social and emotional health. As a Bilingual Youth Care Professional 2nd Shift at Devereux, you will be a critical part of a multi-disciplinary team of dedicated experts who share your passion for helping children in need. Bilingual Youth Care Workers staff the Short-term Shelter program 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The primary responsibility for this position is to maintain a nurturing environment within the program that is conducive to healthy and therapeutic emotional healing and growth of children who have experienced trauma. This full-time position reports to the Shift Supervisor. Every day you will have the opportunity to: Actively assist children with their individualized plans for daily living Ensure our individuals are safe, healthy, and living in a clean, compassionate and therapeutic environment Assist with the planning, implementation, and documentation of programs designed to meet childrens social, emotional, physical and personal needs Plan and participate in community outings Shop for necessities such as food, clothing and household items Schedule and transport children to doctors appointments and other important activities Benefits & Rewards: 24 vacation days (increases with years of service) Quality low cost benefits 403(b) plan with employer match/contribution Employee Assistance Program Qualifications Must be 21 with a valid drivers license High School Diploma or GED, higher education preferred One year of child welfare experience working with children and/or adolescents required Fully immunized/vaccinated (or have a medical/religious exemption) for Varicella, MMR, TdAp, Influenza prior to starting. Schedule: Onboarding/background check process can take up to 4 weeks. You will do a 20 minute phone interview followed by a virtual interview with the hiring manager prior to offer. Devereux conducts a very thorough background check process to ensure the safety of the children in our care.
