Position InformationPosition Availability:This position is available starting immediately (06/01/2024) and will be open until filled. 1-2 candidates will be hired, as needed.Position Title: Event Communications, Student Assistant Requisition Number: 040####### Location New York City Position Type: Student Department: Mannes/Production Responsibilities:The Performance Operations area at the College of Performing Arts seeks a highly motivated student(s) to serve as Event Communications, Student Assistant. We're looking for a detail-oriented, responsible, and proactive individual(s) to support initiatives within the Performance Operations - Event Communications and Marketing area. This position reports to the Manager of Performance and Event Communications and is an ideal position for students who are interested in curating, compiling and editing communications and marketing materials for performing arts events.This position is open to student applicants with Federal Work Study awards, as well as student applicants without a Federal Work Study award.The New School is strongly committed to diversity and inclusion in the workplace and particularly seeks applications from members of underrepresented groups, as well as candidates who share this commitment.Work Mode: Hybrid/RemoteHourly Rate: $16/hourHours per Week: 3-20Responsibilities:* Research, collect and organize content for Event Programs for performing arts events* Edit and proofread programs* Format and digitize event and concert programs using digital program platform Flip* Correspond promptly and professionally with event organizers, including artists, faculty, students and staff* Create digital programs and QR codes* Create event registration pages on the web-based event platform, Splash* Newsletter and social media marketing support* Additional duties as assignedMinimum Qualifications:Minimum Qualifications:* Excellent understanding of grammar and ability to follow style guides* Careful, detail oriented and ability to proofread and edit* Proactive researcher and troubleshooter* Ability to properly communicate in a timely and professional manner with artists, faculty and staff* Proficiency at G-suite and ability to learn other web-based software to complete duties, like Flip HTML, Splash and MailchimpPreferred Qualifications:Preferred Qualifications:* Prior experience in proofreading, program creation or similar area of public facing document creation.* Knowledge of and familiarity with concert programs (orchestral, theater, opera, jazz).* Recipient of a Federal Work Study (FWS) AwardJob Family: Mannes School of Music Posting Date: 07/08/2024 Closing Date: Open Until Filled Yes
