JOB TITLE: Event Coordinator (Part Time)
Reports to: Director of Events and Sales
Summary:
The Event Coordinator serves as event liaison for patrons, clients and other team members while ensuring successful events held at venues within the City Springs campus, including the Sandy Springs Performing Arts and Conference Center and Heritage Park. They are responsible for maintaining excellent client and patron care in a fast-paced environment. Events include, but are not limited to: mitzvahs, weddings, city events, concerts, theatrical performances and more. From ensuring campus policies are followed to having well-rounded sales and area knowledge, this role will work closely with the Events & Sales Department and other arts center (Create City Springs) teams to execute quality events in the City of Sandy Springs.
Job Functions:
* Act as a liaison for Create City Springs with all parties involved in events while the event is on campus
* Coordinate and communicate event requirements with other arts center teams
* Oversee client and vendor load-in and load-out for setup and breakdown of events
* Assist Sales Managers where needed during the event to provide exceptional customer service and a smooth-running event
* Create BEOs, diagrams, and other administrative documents (training provided)
* Track parking validation usage for events when applicable
* Learn basic technology functions to help clients and patrons troubleshoot issues
* Maintain department standards by providing excellent customer service
* Manage high-level corporate and social events in various event spaces booked by renters
* Keep log of client issues to build reports, track emergency responses and maintain lost items
* Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Physical Demands:
* While performing duties of this job, the employee frequently lifts and moves boxes of paper product, a variety of merchandise or branding materials and facility equipment such as tables or chairs. Employee is expectedly to move about the spaces regularly before/during/after the event, but also to stand for long periods of time while events are in the space; position will require employee to frequently bend, stoop or crouch in order to set-up and/or adjust equipment. Employee may be required due to business demands and event operations to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Work environment:
* The duties of this position are performed primarily indoors and occasionally outdoors in the weather conditions prevalent at the time. The noise level in the work environment is usually minimal to moderate during non-event days and moderate too loud during event days.

* Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with City officials, community organizations, the public, promoters, coworkers and supervisors
* Strong customer service skills and a willingness to help people
* Knowledge of and ability to apply basic analytical, math, theatrical and accounting skills
* Ability to effectively foster relationships with the public and to handle stressful situations
* Ability to interact with a broad range of people to effectively problem solve
* Must be flexible and able to handle multiple tasks and conflicting priorities
* Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
* Ability to follow both verbal and written instructions, and the ability to issue clear and concise verbal and/or written instructions to others and report operations verbally or in written form
Requirements:
* Working towards or completed college degree preferred
* Knowledge of and experience in theatre production and/or arts and culture events preferred
* Open availability to work a flexible schedule and a variety of events, primarily: nights, weekends and holidays
* Experience in event management and/or customer service preferred
* Must successfully pass post-offer criminal background check and drug screen
