Placement Range $12.00 - $15.00 Position Type Temporary Part-time Job Category Non-Exempt General DescriptionPart-time Event Front of House Managers direct and supervise all aspects of Front of House operations during special events that take place in the Visual and Performing Arts Center. They have full responsibility for quality control and guest relations/patrons during assigned events. They may delegate duties and tasks to other event staff during events, but it is their responsibility to ensure Senior Management standards are met. This position also ensures the operational stability and the safety and security of the building and patrons during assigned events. This position also observes and monitors set-up and work-in-progress for assigned special events, and addresses the needs of patrons, clients, and staff during those events to ensure a positive experience. Applicants must be able to work evenings and weekends and be comfortable in a customer service role. In general, FOHMs are guaranteed 4 hours per event and typically work 5.5 hrs. per event. However, this is an event-dependent position so a regular week with a minimum set of work hours is not guaranteed since the number of events per week varies. GENERAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Light work: The person in this position may occasionally exert up to 20 pounds of force to move objects.2. PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:This position requires the person to frequently move about the Cultural Programs Office and the OCCC theaters to perform the essential functions of the position.This position requires the person to frequently communicate with and listen to patrons, vendors, students, staff, faculty, and others to perform the essential functions of the position. Must be able to exchange accurate information in various situations.This position requires the person to frequently remain in a standing or stationary position.3. VISUAL ACUITY:This position requires the person to judge, observe and assess the accuracy, neatness, thoroughness of work assigned or to make general observations.4. WORKING CONDITIONSThis position performs the essential functions in an indoor office or theater setting.Preferred QualificationsAssociate's Degree.One (1) year of experience as a Theater Front of House Manager, or managing special events such as weddings and event centers.Required Training Work HoursEvenings, weekends, and some daytime, as available and scheduled in advance.
