Job Title: Event ManagerDepartment: Event ServicesJob Reports To: Director, Event ServicesStatus: ExemptMajor Responsibilities/Activities
- Produce, manage and execute events including, but not limited to, the following:
- Nashville Predators Hockey Games.
- Concert and Live Productions.
- Award Shows & Conferences.
- Nashville Predators and Bridgestone Arena Ancillary Events, both inside and outside of the facility.
- Sales, Sponsorship, Community Relations, and Marketing Meetings & Events.
- Participate and communicate information in event production meetings with department representatives in order to successfully execute fulfillment for all event needs of the client, the venue and the patron.
- Working knowledge and understanding of Riders and Production Documents for concerts and Live Productions.
- Evaluate Rigging Overlays for Concerts & Live Productions ensuring Production Staff are in contact with local labor and secure engineering evaluations and bridle plans through outside vendor (if necessary).
- Develop event documents to effectively communicate with all departments regarding operational needs.
- Serve as an overall resource to all departments for the assigned event.
- Determine proper staffing levels according to event requirements and general facility security and safety.
- Ensure production requirements, event estimates, and final billings are completed timely
- Maintain post event summaries and correspondence as required for all events.
- Act as liaison between the client and facility reassuring that all requirements are met and facility rules, regulations and policies are adhered to.
- Provide quality customer service to facility staff, clients, and the general public.
- Work alongside the Front of House Coordinator on customer service initiatives and follow up requests for events as necessary.
- Perform front of house operations as the Front of House Manager for events not in the Guest Services prevue.
- Manage complaints and related issues with the public and clients involving tickets, seating, concessions, arena presentation and operations.
- Possess a team player mentality and easily adapt to changes in a multi-client environment.
- Establish and maintain relationship with arena rental vendors, managing billing and ticket trades.
Minimum Requirements
- Four (4) year Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university.
- Three (3) to five (5) years of related experience in the meeting planning or event planning industries.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience may be taken into consideration.
- Proven ability to develop, organize and communicate event documents for the staging of large-scale public events.
- Effective communicator and decision-maker in a high-pressure, fast-paced work environment.
- Ability to organize, plan, and prioritize daily workloads.
- Proven ability to meet stringent deadlines through multi-tasking, and ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations.
- Skilled in establishing strong customer relations and meeting or exceeding customer needs and expectations.
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic office equipment.
- Knowledge of computer aided design programs (CAD) such as AutoCAD, Vectorworks, or TurboCAD preferred.
- Possess a valid driver's license, possess a suitable driving history and be insurable by Powers Management's insurance carrier.
- As a condition of employment, qualified applicant will be subject to a background check, including criminal history, driving history, previous employment verification and character references.
Essential Physical Functions:
- Working under extreme deadlines under pressure.
- Working extended hours, including nights and weekends.
- Frequent lifting, bending, walking and handling and lifting heavy equipment up to 50 lbs. required.
- Exposure to bright lights, extreme temperatures and loud noise.
- Ability to stand in an upright position for continuous period of time.
- Excellent speaking and listening skills, requiring the perception of speech.
- Willingness to occasionally work in areas of elevated height.
- Capable of sitting, standing, and walking for extended work hours.
Equipment Used:
- Ability to use office equipment, barcoding scanner system, industrial equipment, and theatrical equipment.
- Ability to use or be trained to use the following:
- Golf carts
- Propane-powered forklifts
- Palette Jacks
- Electric/Gas powered lifts (articulated, boom, and/or scissor type).
