Global Leadership Network (GLN) is a nonprofit organization located in South Barrington, Illinois. Our purpose is to introduce more people to Jesus and fully follow Him. We accomplish this by serving pastors and equipping churches in order to inspire Kingdom-oriented leaders around the world through the Global Leadership Summit and other leadership development resources.The Global Leadership Summit is attended by 60,000+ leaders in 400 sites (primarily churches) throughout the United States. The Summit is translated into 50+ languages and held in over 800 sites in 110 countries reaching over 240,000 international leaders from September to April.Benefits: Our comprehensive benefits package includes health, dental and vision insurance, life insurance, retirement savings with company match, generous paid time off, mental health counseling reimbursement, and more.Job Status: Full-Time Position Classification: Regular; ExemptPosition Team: Content, Experience & VideoReports to: SVP Content, Experience & VideoHybrid Work Schedule: This position currently has a hybrid schedule which includes working in the office Tuesday through Thursday for two scheduled Core Weeks each month and the option to work from home or in the office on Mondays, Fridays, and Tuesday through Thursdays during non-Core Weeks.Primary Responsibilities:Strategically Plan Event Operations to include:
- Event timelines comprising of detailed schedules, floor plans, and team leaders for each event
- Crafting energizing and welcoming experiences
- Serving large groups wanting to attend together at the GLS
- Preparation and oversite of on-site Resource Center at the GLS
- Working cross-functionally with other departments including:
- Marketing: To identify operational marketing collateral, routing and editing.
- Human Resources: For internship hiring, disclaimers or waivers for safety, volunteers, and minors.
- Technology: For guest communication tools, Registration & Guest Check-In processes.
- International: For GLS Partner meetings the week of the GLS.
- Development: For the GLS Inside Edition (donor) experience and on-site Sponsor needs during the GLS.
- Product Team: For speaker resource sales onsite during the GLS.
- Production: Executing guest speaker experiences during the GLS.
- Willow Creek Community Church Operations: To collaborate on all aspects of facilities, hospitality and safety for GLS guests.
- Lead post event debrief sessions with key team members and lead volunteers
Lead Logistics Team including:
- Equipping and empowering key volunteer leaders for event execution
- Hosting monthly Volunteer Team leader meetings
- Hire, onboard and train four to six summer interns
Manage On-going Relations with Key Vendors to include:
- Caterers & restaurants
- Off-site hotels, event locations and churches
- Local hotels for GLS guests
- Promotional material and gift providers
- Complete other related duties as assigned.
- Actively participate in one-on-one meetings with manager, team meetings, all-staff meetings, and cross-functional meetings, as needed.
Manage Event Budgets including:
- Constructing annual GLS budget and stewarding the resources within expected limits
- Maintaining and reconciling expenses each month
- Paying vendors on time
QualificationsSkills and Qualifications:
- 3 to5 years Event Planning experience on events of 1,000+ including:
- Leading, training and developing volunteers and teams
- Positive relationships with vendors in the hospitality field
- Managing budgets of $200k+
- College Graduate
- Aligned with the vision of the GLN and a passion for hospitality
- Curve balls / plates spinning
- Off the charts level of detail and organization
- Ability to manage large amounts of information
- Highly relational and a strong communicator
- Local, on-site employee
Education, Experience, and Other Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree (preferred)
- Fluent in Microsoft Office Applications: Word, Excel and PowerPoint and Monday.com
- Ability to see big picture while still being able to focus on detail and resolve problems
