Job Posting:JR100587 Event/Marketing Coordinator (Open)Department:University Advancement Ofc-Stewardship, PMPosition Type:RegularOpen Date:11-05-2024Close Date:Salary: $23.77/hourlyJob Description:Assist with the coordination and implementation of annual SU Foundation events including Sea Gull Century, Because of You Reception, Scholarships and Awards Luncheon, SU Golf Classic, and other special events as determined by the Deputy Director. These events, both fundraising and stewardship driven, vary from 40 to 4,000 people.Authority and AccountabilityThe Event Coordinator reports to the Deputy Director of the SU Foundation, Inc.This position interacts with students, faculty, staff, donors, and external vendors.Required/Minimum QualificationsBachelor's degree is required with two years of work experience in event management, fundraising, development, and/or customer relations. Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and TEAMS required as well as knowledge of web-based registration databases and social media platforms.Ability to maintain high standards with the work being performed and maintain awareness with trends and influences. Maintain productivity and stay focused on deadlines and details. Skill in exercising initiative, resourcefulness, and sound judgement with an ability to solve problems and make timely decisions. Ability to prioritize ongoing and new events necessary for implementation.Ability to effectively communicate both verbal and written thoughts, ideas, and facts. Writes and presents information in a clear and concise way. Ability to conduct simple negotiations gaining interest from outside vendors. Ability to work cooperatively with others and demonstrates professional, ethical, and courteous behavior when interacting with donors and participants, and provide follow up as needed.
