Job Title: Event & Operations Manager
Job Summary:
NOLA Gold Rugby is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Event & Operations Manager to oversee all events, both in and out of season, and manage game-day operations. The ideal candidate will ensure smooth execution of events, coordinate game-day logistics, and foster collaborative partnerships with clients for events. They must be able to manage staff, facilities, and resources efficiently, and have a passion for sports event management.
Responsibilities:
Event Management (In-Season and Off-Season):
- Plan, coordinate, and execute all NOLA Gold Rugby events, including game-day events, fan engagements, VIP receptions, and special promotions.
- Organize and oversee non-game events, such as community outreach, corporate events, and sponsorship activations.
- Collaborate with marketing, sales, and partnership teams to ensure all events meet strategic goals.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, sponsors, and external event partners.
Game-Day Operations:
- Oversee all game-day operations, including staffing, facilities management, and coordination with stadium partners.
- Manage the setup and breakdown of all game-day activations, including fan zones, hospitality areas, merchandise stands, and sponsor booths.
- Ensure all aspects of the matchday experience run smoothly, from ticketing to crowd management to post-match activities.
- Lead game-day staff and ensure communication is clear between departments (security, facilities, promotions, etc.).
Collaboration & Client Management:
- Work with potential clients and partners to plan and execute collaborative events, maximizing exposure for the NOLA Gold brand.
- Organize group events such as corporate outings, charity fundraisers, and community initiatives in conjunction with sponsors or local organizations.
Staff & Facility Management:
- Manage and train game-day staff, ensuring all are equipped to handle event operations and provide excellent customer service.
- Coordinate with venue staff for facility use, ensuring that all operational needs are met for each event.
- Develop and implement a plan to streamline game-day operations, improving efficiency and fan experience.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with all local and state regulations regarding safety and crowd control.
- Manage event budgets, ensuring cost-effective solutions without compromising quality.
- Explore opportunities to expand the NOLA Gold event portfolio, including participation in local festivals, corporate events, and sports showcases.
- Lead post-event evaluations to assess success and areas for improvement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Event Management, Sports Management, Business, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in event management, operations, or a similar role in sports or entertainment industries.
- Proven ability to plan and execute large-scale events, including budgeting and resource management.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to multitask and work under pressure.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal teams, vendors, and external partners.
- Knowledge of rugby or passion for sports is a plus.
- Flexibility to work non-traditional hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays during game seasons.
- Proficiency in event management software and tools.
Compensation Package:
Salary:
Base Salary: $55,000 - $65,000 per year (depending on experience)
Bonus:
Performance-Based Bonus: Up to 10-12% of annual salary based on successful event execution.
