Position Summary

We are looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Operations Event Manager to oversee the daily operations of our venue and events. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in operations, event management, strong leadership skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. As the Operations Event Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day guest services team as well as ensuring that all events run smoothly, from initial planning to execution and post event evaluation. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service. This is a dynamic and challenging role that requires a high level of flexibility, creativity, and attention to detail.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage the Operations Coordinators & Guest services Team Members.
  • Oversee hiring, training, and operations for Guest Services Team Members.
  • Implement and monitor operational policies and procedures.
  • Manage 24/7 Incident Management System to properly track all incidents.
  • Continuously seek ways to improve operational efficiency.
  • Compile and communicate all event requirements to various departments at Wollman Rink.
  • Work with Director of Operations and Director of Sales to ensure all operational requirements of special events are fulfilled.
  • Prepare and distribute detailed production notes and timelines for special events.
  • Oversee all operational aspects of events and special events.
  • Develop and effectively communicate facility rules, regulations, policies and procedures to external clients and vendors.

Educational Background Required

  • BA/BS or equivalent is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in event management or venue operations.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Previous event management and customer service experience.
  • Previous experience in Sports/Entertainment, Event Production & Hospitality.
  • Comfortable with engaging in a variety of different communicative modes (verbal, non-verbal, and written) and being attuned to others through strong active listening skills.
  • Strong sense of self-awareness and emotional intelligence.
  • Possess a strong ability to manage one's own time and prioritize tasks.
  • Must have experience working with large groups of guests.
  • Highly organized, resourceful, quick learner and able to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Able to work well with different personalities in a fast-paced environment and meet constant deadlines.
  • Able to handle highly sensitive and confidential information.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Able communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.

Compensation

$75K - $85K

Physical Demands

This position requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Work Environment

This position generally requires that work be performed from the Wollman Rink offices, but attendance at events taking place at the rink or offsite, including on weekends and/or holidays, may be required.
