Summary:The Event Security Assistant Manager is responsible for the administration of event security operations for Fiserv Forum and the Deer District. The Event Security Assistant Manager will provide oversight and direction to Event Security Supervisors and staff; coordinate all activities of Plaza and Event Security staff; train, supervise and provide performance feedback, including recommending disciplinary actions when necessary; monitor guest activity and assist with maintaining order; and ensuring adherence to safety and security standards during events at Fiserv Forum and the Deer District.Responsibilities:
- Monitor the performance, conduct and attendance of security staff and supervisors assigned to the event.
- Responsible for the quality of the performance, conduct and efficiency of the entire event security team.
- Develop, implement, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and security initiatives.
- Build and maintain business relationships with stakeholders and facility partners including local, state, & federal fire & police authorities through training and meetings.
- Interview, hire and train event security staff and supervisors assigned to the events.
- Conduct performance appraisals of staff and supervisors and handle disciplinary actions as required.
- Develop and conduct security & safety training sessions for event security personnel.
- Complete special projects and other assigned tasks within the guidelines and deadlines set by the Event Security Manager.
- Establish facility needs based on Milwaukee Bucks and other tenant expectations, staff and coordinate needs to internal department and outside agencies and vendors.
- Maintain records and photos of all incidents that involve any events at Fiserv Forum.
- Act as a liaison with local law enforcement, client representatives, talent/sports team security and outside agencies.
- Work with Guest Experiences management staff to ensure coordinated teamwork between Security and Guest Services.
- Collaborate with internal departments and external clients to minimize expense and maximize budgeted results while maintaining optimal operating efficiency.
- Assist in the administrative documentation including reports, disciplinary notes, logging entries and assist in the creation of department budget and strategic plans.
- Understands, can operate and train others on walk-through magnetometer operations and other screening devices. Familiarity with CEIA magnetometers and Rapiscan x ray equipment a plus.
- Work closely with the Scheduling Department to fulfill the security staffing requirements for all Fiserv Forum events.
- Account for and take responsibility management of hourly security event staff scheduling and hours.
- Respond to emergencies and work to deescalate urgent matters.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree from a four-year college or university preferred.
- NCS4, IAVM, ASIS certifications preferred.
- Prior experience working with the public, preferably in a hospitality-related or customer care environment preferred. Experience in the sports of entertainment industry highly preferred.
- Up to date with industry best practice standards and applicable laws.
- Ability to work extended hours including nights, weekends, on-call status, and holidays as necessary.
- Strong communication skills required. Speaking and presenting to groups or members of the organization.
- Effective written communication skills.The ability to write reports; and correspond in a professional manner; read, comprehend, edit safety documents, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals based on industry standards.

- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Basic knowledge of personal computers and peripherals, word processing and spreadsheet software, e-mail and the Internet.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite programs (Excel, Access, and Outlook) and a working knowledge of payroll systems. Experience using ABI scheduling software is preferred.
- The duties of this job require the ability to work both indoors and outdoors in both hot and cold weather conditions.
- This work requires considerable physical activity primarily involving walking and standing for extended periods. Some lifting, reaching, stooping, balancing, climbing, and/or crouching may be required. Visual and audio acuity are required for resolving customer service issues. Incumbent is required to have sufficient hearing ability to perceive information at normal spoken word levels. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is routinely required to walk, stand, and sit as needed.
- The employee has continuous contact with the public. The employee is routinely required to work with others to accomplish joint projects and to work alone on his/her own tasks. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The employee is frequently subject to noise sufficient to cause the worker to shout to be heard above the ambient noise level. Lighting and temperature are generally adequate, but work is occasionally performed in dark areas that require some form of light.
