Wilkes University invites applicants for a part-time Event Support and Moving Services Technician in the Facilities Department. The position performs room/building set-ups associated with University events including commencement, orientations, homecoming, and various other campus events and performances; as well as logistical moves and campus deliveries such as furniture, equipment, and supplies. The ESMS Technician provides maintenance support with general cleaning duties including cleaning up spills, trash removal, performing daily general maintenance as needed (resetting breakers, painting, etc.) and work associated with seasonal grounds maintenance and care including snow removal, litter removal, etc.
High school diploma or GED required. Minimum of six (6) months work experience in a customer service and labor-oriented work environment. Valid Pennsylvania Driver's License is required. Knowledge of best practices in general maintenance and grounds maintenance and care preferred.
Proficient technical and manual skills to perform associated general maintenance manual tasks, as well as basic knowledge of computers (Word, Excel and web based applications) required. Must demonstrate the ability to occasionally lift at least 100 pounds, to read and comprehend schematic drawings, safety regulations and other documentation pertinent to the position. The successful candidate will have excellent customer service skills and the ability to function well in a team environment.
Shift is Thursday through Saturday, 6:30am to 3:00pm.
