Job Description:
Position Summary: The primary responsibilities are twofold: to work alongside other BPC staff to lead, plan, organize and coordinate events with excellence and; to create welcoming environments throughout the church that reflect sermon series and seasonal events. The Coordinator will also act as a consultant, providing advice and assistance for BPC ministries holding smaller events.Essential Duties/Responsibilities:Act as the point person for large church events and special conferences:Research and develop plansGather supplies, find vendors, create registrations, and organize volunteersEnsure marketing and communication requests are generatedBe onsite for events ensuring day-of logistics including tear-down/wrap upEnsure debriefs occur for the eventsAssist the Director of Care with Legacy events and planning memorials/funeralsManage budget spending for events and environmentsSchedule and track weddings by receiving and screening wedding requests, meeting with brides/families to arrange details, supporting the pastor performing the wedding and handling invoicing and coordinating any reception details if applicableTrack BPC inventory of event-related material such as décor, props, serving items, etc.Act as an advisor to BPC ministry leaders for events for which they have responsibilityAlong with other BPC staff and with Pastor consultation and input, create visuals within the Sanctuary that complements the sermon series or seasonal holidaysCreate environments throughout the campus that reflect seasons, sermon series or church focusAttend staff meetings, attend department planning meetings as neededRequired Skills and Abilities:A love for the Lord and BPC with a desire to glorify the Lord through the events held at BPCStrong organization and time-management skillsDetail oriented with the ability to problem solveEnergetic and self-motivatedAbility to stay calm under pressure while keeping a customer-service oriented attitudeCreative spirit with the ability to dream and design with a team of peopleMinimum Qualifications, Education and Experience:Bachelor degree preferred but not requiredPrevious experience in event planning and/or designFlexible schedule with the ability to work at times in the evenings or weekendsProficient computer skills with a working knowledge of Microsoft and Google operating systemsSatisfactory background check required for all positionsPhysical Requirements:Able to stand for long periods of timeAble to lift, carry and move items as needed for eventsAble to drive
