Through its education and advocacy efforts, HAF promotes dignity, mutual respect, and pluralism to ensure the well-being of Hindus and for all people and the planet to thrive.Position Summary:The Events Assistant will be responsible for supporting the planning and execution of virtual and in person programming and fundraising events. The role will work closely with the Events Coordinator to manage administrative tasks to ensure the success of in person events, including fundraisers and galas, as well as virtual events such as webinars and year end gala.Essential Duties:The successful incumbent will be able to perform the following duties with or without reasonable accommodations:
  • Event calendar/meeting management (GCal)
  • Keep project management software updated (Asana)
  • Use standardized templates to create relevant documents for each event
  • Place special material orders and submit and record expenses
  • Track event RSVPs
  • Use event management system to manage ticketing and messaging of upcoming programs and events
  • Work with Event Coordinator to set up Zoom webinars and webpages for live events
  • Assist in post-event accounting and reporting
  • Travel for operations support at live events
  • Assist with event inventory and supply management
Required Education and Experience:
  • Undergraduate degree in hospitality, liberal arts, marketing, business, or communications.
  • One to two years of relevant experience in event execution.
  • Success working and communicating across multi-generational diasporic community members.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively in various modes, including written, verbal, and electronic platforms.
  • Record of successful collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Technical fluency with productivity and database applications including, but not limited to Google Workspace, and online collaboration tools (e.g., Zoom, Slack, Asana).
  • Technical fluency with customer relationship management software, specifically Salesforce, and event management software.
  • Experience working with Salesforce, Classy Event and Canva (or similar design software).
  • Proven organizational skills
