Events & Communications Specialist Role:
As the Events & Communications Specialist for CMT, an engineering and consulting company, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing our involvement at industry and community events, along with managing associated sponsorships. You'll have the opportunity to organize memorable hospitality functions, support engaging internal events, and work closely with teams across various geographies and business units to align efforts with business plans and marketing objectives.
As a key member of our team, you will collaborate cross-functionally with firm leaders, technical staff, and fellow marketing professionals to develop marketing and communications content and craft new strategies or processes for events and communications. Your work will have a direct impact on elevating CMT's external presence and reputation with clients, potential clients, and the public, showcasing CMT's expertise, community involvement, and growing visibility in both established and emerging markets. Duties & Responsibilities:
* Coordinate and execute assigned tasks under the support, coaching and direction of CMT's Communications & Experiences Manager
* Plan and execute internal and external events on behalf of CMT during all stages of the event process
* Work cross-functionally with firm leaders, technical staff leads, partner organizations, and venue representatives to ensure a smooth event planning and execution process
* Design and distribute event communications and event-related digital and print signage
* Serve as the on-site Point of Contact for certain events, which may require travel and could be outside of normal business hours
* Coordinate the firm's sponsorship and conference participation
* Coordinate booth set-up and hospitality giveaways for events, sponsorships, conferences, and other initiatives
* Coordinate and track digital and print advertisements that pertain to sponsorships
* Work cross-functionally with firm leaders, technical staff, and marketing team members to develop corporate communications content, including:
* Internal/Employee communications
* External and Press/Media communications
* Executive & Leadership communications
* Operational communications
* Support the development and implementation of new strategies or processes for events and communications
* Utilize marketing, communications, and/or design software to lead content development and develop processes
* Utilize marketing, communications, and/or design software to develop content and follow processes (i.e. Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Office 365, Greenvelope, Monday.com)
* Build and maintain cooperative and trusting relationships with Marketing teammates and technical staff
* Submit quality work for review and approval in a timely manner
* Uphold marketing standards and brand usage guidelines
* Participate in efforts towards continuous improvement and innovation
* Align with and embrace CMT's mission and core values
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
* Proficient knowledge of marketing techniques, tools, and principles
* Proficient understanding of A/E/C industry terminology and procedures
* Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
* Proficient with Adobe Creative suite and/or digital marketing platforms
* Strong verbal and written communication skills
* Strong interpersonal and active listening skills
* Strong attention to detail and thoroughness in completing tasks
* Strong organizational skills and ability to manage deadlines and multiple concurrent tasks
* Strong copywriting and editing skills
* Proficient ability to apply creativity to develop engaging content and improve processes
* Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills to identify issues, evaluate options, and implement solutions
* Demonstrated responsiveness, professionalism, and teamwork
Education & Experience
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in event management, marketing, communications, hospitality, or a related field
* 2-10 years of experience in event management, marketing, communications, hospitality, or a related field
Physical Requirements
* Physical demands vary depending on the specific nature of assigned projects.
* Office tasks: Physical requirements are minimal and include prolonged periods sitting or standing at a desk and working on a computer.
* For certain events: May require travel and could be outside of normal business hours
