Job Description:

Role: Events Coordinator, NYC

About Us

TALEA is NYC's female-founded craft brewery changing the perception of craft beer. We operate four (soon to be five) taprooms across Manhattan and Brooklyn that bring our craft beer, wine, cocktails, and food to guests through a hospitality-focused experience. We are known for our welcoming environment, female-forward brand, and beautifully designed spaces. TALEA has collaborated with world-renowned brands like Levain, Fishwife, Olipop, and Shake Shack. Our beers are available at Whole Foods, Trader Joe's, Costco and hundreds of bars, restaurants, and retailers across NYC and the surrounding areas.

The Role

TALEA is looking for an eager and hard-working self-starter to help promote our taproom private events program. At least one year of experience working in sales or event sales is required. Experience in serving, bartending, operations, and other complementary fields is helpful; a passion for hospitality and delighting our guests is required.

This role's primary responsibility will be responding to event inquiries in a timely, comprehensive manner. By understanding the prospective client's needs, you would evaluate the best event options and draft a thorough reply that includes an event proposal. The role also requires follow-up email and phone calls, and has potential for in-person event attendance as needed. Clear communication skills critical, as well as the ability to think creatively on your feet.

As a member of the nimble TALEA team, you'll be joining a growing company in its early stage and working closely with the Private Events Manager, Head of Hospitality, Taproom Managers and General Managers - be prepared to hit the ground running! We value autonomy, ambition, grit, and an insatiable desire to exceed expectations. If you're looking for a fun, fast-paced, challenging opportunity, we'd love to hear from you.

  • Managing relationships with guest from first touch (phone, inquiry, email) through event execution
  • Brainstorming new ideas to improve guest satisfaction and grow revenue and profit for TALEA
  • Assist in ensuring all target private events sales goals are met
  • Help establish and maintain positive relationships with vendors
  • Report weekly to the Private Events Manager to provide all necessary event feedback and potential troubleshooting
  • Communicate thoughtfully, respectfully, and efficiently with coworkers and customers
  • Maintain positive outlook and professional behavior under pressure

Requirements

  • Natural salesperson with proven record of conversion
  • Build and maintain client database to ensure repeat business by providing excellent guest service
  • Contribution to developing event strategies to better reach our goals
  • Passionate about TALEA's vision and obsessed with customer satisfaction
  • Enthusiastic and comfortable working for an early-stage company in a rapidly changing environment
  • Strong attention to detail and communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize guest service
  • 1-3 years of experience in sales, ideally event sales within New York City preferred
  • Self-motivated and self-disciplined, you take initiative and work autonomously; you bring creative ideas to the table and see projects through to completion
  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Ability to lift 25 pounds

Compensation

  • This role ranges from $24-26/hour and is mostly remote. Must be within a commutable distance to Manhattan and Brooklyn
