This role will support event planning, scheduling, execution, and day-of-the-event support for our federal government clients. The event coordinator will need to have significant experience supporting events for the federal government, working well under pressure, managing multiple requests, and meeting deadlines. An ideal candidate should have excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to multi-task and adapt in a fast-paced environment. To excel in this role, the Events Coordinator should be innovative, organized, and self-motivated with a keen interest in driving strategic messages to key internal and external stakeholders through visual imagery. KBC has an immediate need for an Events Coordinator in Morgantown, WV, or Pittsburgh, PA, with the ability to travel as needed. This person will as a contractor in support of the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) in planning and executing onsite and external events. Additional duties include strategic planning, project coordination, conducting research, and engaging in communications activities for the department. Responsibilities The Events Coordinator will support contractor efforts with DOE and provide support to engagement and communications areas. The Events Coordinator will explore, identify and facilitate events between DOE and external organizations including local communities, tribal lands, other national labs, universities, and industry. The Events Coordinator will lead and participate in event planning and participation support to promote the DOE. Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree Required
  • 5-10 years of relative experience
  • Superior schedule and event-tracking capabilities
  • Sub-contract development and execution experience
  • In-depth knowledge of event on-site logistics, travel coordination, and shipping execution
  • Experience sitting up event staffing schedules
  • Experience planning event details and aspects, including presentation coordination, communication products, and schedule
  • Maintain a working knowledge of the complex needs of a wide variety of events and clients
Preferred Qualifications
  • PMP Certification Preferred
  • Experience in supporting and managing events for the Federal Government
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Experience in managing multiple tasks at once
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced scheduling and execution environment
  • Openness to tasks and duties changing depending on the needs of the client
  • Experience establishing and maintaining relationships with clients
  • Experience completing day-to-day project administration
  • Writing and/or editing background
  • Professional research skills
