The City of Greer is currently accepting applications for an Events Coordinator in our Parks, Recreation and Tourism Department.
Responsibilities: Acts as receptionist and main point of contact for wedding events, which involves answering telephones, taking messages, routing calls, providing facility/park tours, providing assistance as needed, greeting the general public, providing directions, and dealing with media with respect to facility/park activities. Books appointments for rental spaces. Supervises events staff in absence of Events Supervisor. Coordinates activities and events for the facility/park, which involves planning events; setting up, decorating for, and executing parties and events; and assisting in the preparation of the event to include renting facilities, ensuring cleanliness of facilities, ensuring that rules and regulations are met by participants. Maintains events calendar and scheduling for rentals, internal programming and public events at Greer City Park. Performs general bookkeeping duties including maintaining records and files on activities and events, receiving and receipting payments, etc. Maintains social media for Events Division includes Facebook, Instagram, twitter, etc.
Job Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in recreation or related field; Minimum two (2) years of experience in this area. Must possess a valid state issued driver's license
Hours: Primarily Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm; Hours will vary depending upon schedule of events; some nights and weekends will be required
Salary: Minimum $46,233 annually, dependent on experience
