From fast-casual to fine dining and everything in between, JAG'ers know they all play a critical role in the overall success of our brands.Position SummaryThe Senior Sales and Events Manager will serve as a sales driver for event and group dining sales for The Bazaar by José Andrés New York, Nubeluz and Zaytinya in New York. The Manager will engage in active outreach and continuously build infrastructure to maximize sales opportunities, develop sustainable relationships within target groups and ultimately generate business for the restaurants. They will collect and update information about target markets; design, implement and host meetings and events within the restaurants for sales and marketing opportunities, and attend offsite events to draw business into the restaurant.Job Functions/Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement sales and marketing goals and strategies to increase overall and private event business, in tandem with the Senior Director of Events.
  • Build and nurture relationships with corporate and social event planners to ensure José Andrés Group is at the forefront of their options for events fostering loyalty and repeat business.
  • Develop a detailed database of key sales and events targets.
  • Review and execute on monthly goals.
  • Assess results regularly and creatively brainstorm programs to generate awareness and engagement among target audience segments.
  • Manage full sales cycle for on-premises large groups and events from 8 to 150 guests.
  • Conduct property site visits highlighting cross-selling opportunities.
  • Clearly define guest expectations, anticipate needs, and ask questions to ensure a positive experience.
  • Manage contract negotiations, seeking input from legal counsel as necessary.
  • Create detailed Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) for each large group and private dining booking, exercising a thorough understanding of menu and property logistics.
  • Liaise with restaurant operations team for special requests and to communicate all client expectations.
  • Collect and share client feedback with the management team.
  • Work with marketing team to maintain sales and events materials,, incorporating new content as available.
  • Maintain accurate event, payment and customer records in Tripleseat.
  • Collaborate and share best practices with other José Andrés Group events team members in NYC and beyond.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Three to five years of private dining or catering sales, event coordination or retail experience is required. Prior front-of-house restaurant or catering experience is a plus.
  • Comfortable working in luxury environment.
  • Strong food and beverage knowledge, and interest in learning about cultural traditions.
  • Must have a high comfort level actively engaging guests and colleagues across the organization.
  • Exhibits strong telephone, email, and interpersonal communication skills, as well as exceptional organizational and time management skills.
  • Consistently demonstrates a positive and team-oriented attitude.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; familiarity with basic social media marketing principles.
  • Ability to analyze and report data accurately.
  • Comfortable working independently, taking initiative to identify and accomplish tasks.
  • Ability to creatively problem solve and overcome obstacles to achieve goals.
  • Excels in a fast-paced, ever-changing, and high growth company.
  • Continuous desire for learning and self-improvement by maintaining a student mentality and asking questions.

  • Knowledge and comfort level with Google Workplace, Tripleseat. Reservations platforms SevenRooms and Open Table a plus.
