Event staff members are expected to have good communication and teamwork skills as well as professionalism and attention to detail. The ability to work flexible hours is a must.Requirements:Essential Duties & Responsibilities:Assist in various set-up and breakdowns of scheduled events (i.e. setting up and breaking down for athletic sporting events at the RLTAC, including hurdles, raking the long jump pit, setting up tables/chairs according to floorplans, hanging signage, organizing dressing and green rooms based on client requests).Assist in clean up and breakdown of materials and equipment after completion of event.Provide Coverage for crowd control during larger scale eventsMonitor access to events as assignedAssist with Management of building operations as directed (i.e. administrative support, covering check-in desk, weight room, membership services and other departments on campus)Adhere to policies and procedures mandated by Roxbury Community College and the RLTACReport any logistical issues to onsite events supervisor.Must be able to list 50 poundsOther duties to be assigned by supervisor.Requirements:18 years of age or olderAttention to detailGreat communication skills.Ability to assist fellow staff members and work with others as a team.Ability to work independently.Must be willing to work nights and weekends.Ability to maintain composure in stressful situations.Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills a must.Preferred:High school diploma or equivalent1-2 years of previous related event staff experience preferred.Ability to speak multiple languages.Start Date: Based on availability of event.Hours: 18.5 hours per week; Shifts will vary based on event needs - weekday operations are between 8:00am - 10:00pm; weekend operations are between 8:00am - 10:00pm.Salary: $20/HourBenefits: Eligible for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Earned Sick TimeAdditional Information:The Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Crime Statistics Act requires all institutes of higher education to disclose campus policy statements and crime statistics.
