Job Summary
The EVS Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the cleaning/work quality of the area assigned meets cleaning standards. Either assists with shift start and end process or is responsible for shift starts and end process depending on leadership configuration for the day. Ensures that assigned employees daily task assignments have been completed. Assists in creating the schedule and managing PTO. Ensures shift coverage and appropriate decision making in the absence of the manager/director. Ensures that areas of responsibility are maintained in accordance with hospital polices and regulatory bodies. Coaches, guides and mentors staff as appropriate.
Pay Range
Minimum $24.96 Midpoint $33.07 Maximum $41.19
Rate of pay is determined by various factors, including but not limited to knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, education, as well as position requirements.
Experience
* Required: Minimum two (2) years of acute hospital experience. Proficient knowledge in infection prevention and chemical, medical and general waste streams. Prior management experience as an EVS Supervisor or a minimum of three (3) years as a Lead.
* Preferred: Three (3) years of acute hospital experience, within in a children's hospital. Experience directly supervising a team of fifteen (15) or more. Daily floor care experience. Previous hard floor and carpet project experience. Experience with AIDET.
Education
* Required: High School Diploma/ GED or equivalent.
* Preferred: Associate's degree.
Training
* Required: None required.
* Preferred: DOT Certification; Ebola Readiness Training; County HAZ MAT Certification.
Specialized Skills
* Required: Possess attributes exhibiting maturity, leadership, self motivation, flexibility, and teamwork. Ability to prioritize and complete duties in a timely manner, and prepare timely and accurate documentation and reports. Ability to set goals and judge results in accordance with the highest standards. Promote teamwork to achieve CHOC's mission; and understand and exceed customer expectations, role model positive and professional behavior. Excellent written and oral communication skills; intermediate computer skills. Able to operate heavy floor machines and lift up to 30 - 50 pounds
* Preferred: Bilingual: English/Spanish; Ability to type 35 wpm. Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office e.g., Outlook, Excel, Word.
Licensure
* Required: None required.
* Preferred: Basic Life Support (BLS).
