We are seeking a skilled and experienced Excavation Equipment Operator to join our geothermal installation team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience operating excavators, bulldozers, and skid steers and will play an integral role in Dandelion Energy's mission to deliver renewable geothermal energy solutions. This is a field-based position, and you will be responsible for the excavation and installation of geothermal systems across both small residential and larger commercial projects. This position is based out of Peekskill, NY, and requires flexibility for travel throughout the Northeast, including the potential for long-distance trips and extended stays. Candidates must live within 40 minutes of our Peekskill branch. Key Responsibilities:
- Operate heavy excavation equipment, including excavators, bulldozers, and skid steers, for geothermal system installation
- Excavate and install HDPE piping from geothermal boreholes to heat pump locations
- Prepare job sites and restore landscapes to company standards post-installation
- Work on both small residential projects and larger commercial installations
- Safely transport equipment and materials to job sites
- Maintain and perform routine maintenance on all excavation equipment
- Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and project quality standards
- Manage job sites, ensuring project timelines are met
- Travel throughout the Northeast region as needed, with the possibility of extended stays at job sites
About You:
- Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude.
- Must have experience operating excavators, bulldozers, and skid steers
- Experience with geothermal or residential/commercial construction is a plus
- Commercial excavation experience and planning is a plus
- Valid driver's license and the ability to drive large trucks and trailers; CDL is a plus
- Comfortable with long-distance travel and extended stays at job sites
- Must live within 40 minutes of our Peekskill branch
- Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and ability to work independently and in a team
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks
