Exchange Engineer Job Overview: The Cloud Office team is looking for an Engineer to participate in the planning, design, and management of the company's Messaging, Collaboration and M365 infrastructure. This position will support for Exchange on-premises, Exchange Online, and Microsoft 365 core services. To support this requirement, the role requires strong knowledge and expertise with designing, engineering, implementing, and supporting the relevant messaging, collaboration, and core M365 technologies. Responsibilities:
- Assist with the migration of 50,000+ mailboxes from a single on premises Exchange organization to multiple distinct M365/EXO tenants
- Function as an engineer for the various M365 messaging components within the Cloud Office space
- Assisting in the planning and execution of the migration process, ensuring minimal disruption to users and business operations
- Collaborating with senior engineers, internal teams, and external partners to assess current mailbox configurations and requirements for migration.
- Providing technical support to end-users during the migration process, addressing any issues or concerns promptly.
- Documenting migration procedures, configurations, and troubleshooting steps for future reference
- Participate in on-call rotation for deployed M365 components
Requirements:
- Degree in a related field or equivalent IT work experience (5+ years)
- 3+ years of experience in Exchange Online, including migrations
- 3+ years of experience with Microsoft Teams including 3rd party integrations
- Experience using BitTitan MigrationWiz to perform bulk mailbox migrations
Preferences:
- Relevant, current technical certifications encouraged
- Experience managing multiple Azure/M365 tenants including maintaining configuration consistency across tenants
- Experience with PowerShell to automate and manage AD & M365, including EntraID, Conditional Access & Licensing
- Ability to explain technical procedures in business terms for non-technical stakeholders
- Hands-on experience working in complex infrastructure environments in a highly regulated industry
