Overview

Bancroft is currently seeking a Executive Assistant, General Counsel's Office to join our team in Cherry Hill, NJ.

Bancroft is a leading service-provider for children and adults with autism, other intellectual or developmental disabilities, and those in need of neurological rehabilitation. We provide a full continuum of highly effective services, including special education schools, vocational training, day and residential programs, both on-campus and in the community, and in-home and outpatient rehabilitation services. Responsibilities

The Executive Assistant, General Counsel's Office provides a broad range of routine paraprofessional, technical and administrative support services to the General Counsel's Office. Prepares various routine and specialized administrative documents and correspondence. Performs paralegal work of standard professional difficulty, and assists in routine aspects of potential litigation, legal and/or factual research an analysis, and drafting of documentation. Assists with the administration, governance and operations of Bancroft's Board of Trustees, facilitating innovation, promoting engagement, and creating opportunities for productive interactions among Board members.

* Interacts with board members, donors, government officials and other sensitive contacts.

* Directs the daily operations of the board of trustees, including supporting the preparation and execution of board meetings, maintaining schedules and records, and establishing effective communication regarding board activities with board members, management, and staff.

* Responsible for partnering with the President & CEO and Board Chair to develop meeting agendas and providing any necessary logistical support to ensure efficient operation of board meetings and related activities.

* Drafts minutes and all official communication about decisions, actions, and directives, including confidential documentation, following meetings to impacted stakeholders to facilitate their timely implementation.

* Establishes and maintains a file tracking system, databases, records, and/or other documents.

* Creates and provides orientation and ongoing education for board members, ensuring they understand their roles and responsibilities and can effectively operate in their role.

* Implements best practices and new approaches to board of trustees governance, meetings, and operations to promote high levels of engagement among board members.

* Calendars and monitors time-sensitive deadlines for claims, litigation, and other legal proceedings.

* As specifically directed by the General Counsel, conveys routine information to management regarding legal matters.

* Researches and analyzes federal, state, and local statutes, ordinances, court decisions, legal documents, and articles for use in preparing legal documents, opinions, contracts, and resolutions under the direct supervision of the General Counsel.

* Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor's degree, preferably in business management, public administration, paralegal, or related fields. Paralegal certificate a plus.

Experience:

* Experience handling sensitive and highly confidential data.

* Experience working with C Suite level executives and Board members

* Experience working in a law firm or legal department, in house experience preferred.

* Experience independently planning and coordinating events and meetings, managing unforeseen disruptions.

* Experience with Board or other executive meetings coordinating off site locations, meals, and entertainment, including working with technology team to ensure seamless delivery. Meetings may include Board Members and other external executives.

* Experience with calendar optimization.

* Experience managing complex relationships with colleagues from multiple markets, business units and external entities.

* Demonstrated self-direction in overcoming team conflict or communication problems and in serving as a resource for junior level colleagues.

* Experience managing mid-size projects.
