Orange Coast College (OCC) is seeking an innovative equity-minded leader to serve as the Executive Director of College Advancement within the Executive Wing as part of the Office of the President.

OCC is a recognized leader in preparing students for transfer to four-year institutions and holds the prestigious designations of both a Hispanic-Serving Institution (HSI) and an Asian American, Native American, and Pacific Islander Serving Institution (AANAPISI). The college also boasts state-of-the-art facilities and is the first community college in Southern California to offer on-campus residential housing with over 300 apartment units, further enhancing the student experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Designs and implements comprehensive development programs, including annual fund, corporate, and foundation relations, gift planning, endowment and capital campaigns, nonpublic grant writing, and alumni and constituent efforts.
  • Provides participatory support to the President, Foundation Board, and senior administration with regards to donor cultivation and resource development.
  • Prepares and implements general revenue development strategies and action plans by overseeing functions of specialized programs within the campus community.
  • Plans, organizes, and performs a variety of activities to support campaign development.
  • Cultivates contacts and establishes and maintains a system for identifying and contacting current and potential donors.
  • Prepares communications and other forms of recognition to acknowledge donors.
  • Develops deferred and planned giving programs.
  • Coordinates and directs the fund-raising activities for scholarship programs.
  • Develops and cultivates community and business relationships for ongoing in-kind gifts.
  • Oversees and participates in the development of marketing and promotional materials that support the College's advancement and fund-raising activities.
  • Qualifications and Physical Demands

    The position requires a Bachelor's degree in marketing communications, journalism, business, or a related field and 8 years of progressive experience in a responsible fundraising and marketing role. A master's degree is preferred and may substitute for some experience.

    Demonstrated evidence of responsiveness to and understanding of the racial, ethnic, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, socioeconomic, academic, and cultural diversity within the community college student population is essential.

    Conditions of Employment

    Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment VISA at this time. This is a permanent contract, full-time, general-funded, 12-months per year, Classified Management position.
