POSITION OVERVIEW The Executive Director oversees the team management, strategy development and execution of activities dedicated to increasing philanthropic activity, implementing the overall Foundation's strategic vision and growth for their divisional foundation office. This position develops strategies for increasing the divisional Foundation's philanthropic income capabilities, along with economic resources for the Foundation to support the mission, facilities, and activities of the hospitals, and affiliate organizations of Franciscan Alliance, Inc. WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
- Lead and manage a strategic, comprehensive and proactive planned giving program that reflects industry best practices and maximizes charitable contributions.
- Direct and perform activities resulting in the development of resources including but not limited to major funds acquisition, annual and direct mail campaigns, major gift initiatives, special project activities, planned and deferred giving programs and major capital campaigns in concert other foundation stakeholders.
- Design and implement effective tailored cultivation, solicitation and stewardship plans for donor prospects in the assigned portfolio to advance and reinforce donor commitment.
- Manage a portfolio of major gift donors and prospects; ensures prospects and donors are moving through the appropriate prospect cycle.
- Develop and manages the Foundation budget, including making budget allocations, achieving revenue goals, approving expenditures and ensuring expense are within budget.
- Supervise coworkers within one or multiple functions and manages the performance of individuals through ongoing coaching, feedback and development to motivate, engage and drive a high performing team.
QUALIFICATIONS - Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or college in philanthropy or related field - Required
- Master's Degree from an accredited university or college and a CFRE and/or FAHP designation - Preferred
- 3 years of executive-level experience in Development/Fundraising - Required
- Experience in fundraising/development in a not-for-profit healthcare system environment - Preferred
- Knowledge and ability to establish and grow a donor base and pipeline with proven fundraising success and personally responsible for soliciting and closing major gifts greater than or equal to $100,000 - Required
- Successfully led capital campaigns and/or major gift initiatives
- Experience working in relevant donor databases, such as Blackbaud's Raiser's Edge - Required
- Personal and professional commitment to the Catholic-Franciscan mission and values of Franciscan Alliance - Required
- Experience in the establishment and/or growth of a Foundation - Preferred
