The Executive Director of Global Technology Stewardship and Communications is responsible for the execution and oversight of key functions and projects necessary to the operation of the Global Technology function. Chief responsibilities include facilitating and contributing industry expertise to the development and communication of Global Technology Strategy; will lead the development, monitoring, and reporting of Global Technology strategy and performance goals, as well as guide the development of executive communications on behalf of the CIO and Global Technology Leadership team. The Executive Director acts as a partner by creating, maintaining, and maturing relationships with stakeholders and cross functional teams to drive IT Operational process and projects and overall leadership success. Leads and influences discussion to build alignment with sensitive issues that could impact Global Technology reputation and opportunities. Consults with Technology leaders to align project scope and definitions with RGA and Technology strategy. Lead and consult in the crafting of communications to stakeholders, including status and issues as well as facilitating decisions. PRINCIPAL DUTIES:

  • Manages the development of Global Technology Strategy. Partners with CIO and Technology Chief of Staff to create the overall framework of the Strategy, synthesizes and contributes to strategy elements, and operates as advisor and consultant to the Technology Leadership team to build out strategy elements. Creates multi-level communications to ensure awareness and visibility of the strategy at all levels of the organization, from RGA Executives to individual contributors. Ensures the strategy is updated and maintained to ensure relevance and alignment with RGA Strategy and key trends from Insurance and Technology industries.
  • Oversees the successful execution of key Technology operational processes: Development, monitoring, and reporting of Global Technology goals; Analysis and reporting of Technology performance and value; Planning and facilitating of Global Technology department and leadership communications; Creates and delivers executive-level communications for Technology Leadership, business leaders, and executives; Translates technical and abstract technology concepts into business-relevant language for business leaders and executives; Leverages MS Office mastery in the development of materials and supporting data used in communications.
  • Act as an ambassador of Global Technology to ensure knowledge and capabilities are fully leveraged to best enable the enterprise, particularly as it relates to strategy and evolution / innovation.
  • Identify and communicate market trends that should be considered in Global Technology strategy and evolution.
  • Acts as a strategic partner and trusted advisor to Chief of Staff, providing support of strategy, communications, operations, and internal relations. Manages cross-functional projects involving Technology leaders and executives, including as needed: Developing the business case and success criteria with stakeholders, establishes necessary schedule and resource plans; identifying and allocating resources; monitoring performance against expectations; managing changes, issues and risks; and providing regular communication to the Chief of Staff, IT LT, and other relevant project stakeholders.

EDUCATION: Required:
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience
Preferred:
  • Master's degree and/or LOMA certification
EXPERIENCE: Required:
  • 10+ years' relevant technology and business experience
  • 5-7 years' experience operating in a technology leadership capacity (eg, Project Management, Team Lead, and / or comparable role)
  • Subject Matter Expertise in executive communications, translating technical requirements into business language, and effective stakeholder alignment practices
  • Adept at integrating individual and collaborative delivery with Technology executives, leaders, and peers; provides the heavy lift where needed to achieve results, while holding self and collaborators accountable to delivering on commitments.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills. Demonstrates ability to evaluate project objectives and scope for feasibility, understanding, scheduling. Establishes project plans and executes while meeting financial and scheduling criteria. Able to manage multiple projects and/or teams simultaneously.
  • Ability to work well within a team environment, participate in department/team projects and balance detail with departmental objectives. Ability to resolve conflict and foster teamwork. Ability to quickly adapt to new methods, work under tight deadlines and stressful conditions.
  • Advanced ability to interpret and translate complex, abstract technical concepts into business relevant language and value propositions.
  • Excellent oral and written communication.
  • Advanced level of investigative, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Highly advanced level of people management and engagement skills, demonstrating the ability to lead through influence; including the ability to delegate key areas of responsibility.
  • Advanced persuasion and negotiating skills when working with senior staff and stakeholders. Effective at managing stakeholders and establishing positive, constructive relationships.
  • Master at PowerPoint and developing Executive-level presentations and visuals.
  • Master at Excel: merging, reconciling data; lookups / cross-references; a PivotTable wizard; Charting; formatting and leveraging into Exec-level information presentation.
Preferred:
  • 12+ years of complex project management experience in a fast-paced technology, financial services or insurance environment
  • Expert risk mitigation and issue resolution skills; demonstrated ability to identify challenges and determine solutions
  • Expert communication and change management skills; demonstrated ability to effectively target communications and influence a wide range of audiences, from individual contributors to senior leaders
  • Advanced knowledge and/or practical experience with Lean Six Sigma or other process improvement methodologies
  • Leadership of Project Management Office (PMO) and/or portfolio managers

Compensation Range: $120,375.00 - $179,365.00 Annual Base pay varies depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and market location. In addition, RGA provides an annual bonus plan that includes all roles and some positions are eligible for participation in our long-term equity incentive plan.
