Description:

The Supreme Court Advisory Committee on the Practice of Law has opened the application period for candidates for the position of Executive Director of the Colorado Lawyer Assistance Program (COLAP). The vacancy will be created by the departure of Sarah Myers and will occur on approximately January 1, 2025.

COLAP's mission is to assist members of the legal profession with issues impacting their productivity, including mental health issues and/or substance use disorders. It also aims to educate the bench, bar, and law schools on the causes and remedies for such impairments, thereby protecting the interests of clients, litigants, and the general public.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • An attorney with an active Colorado license in good standing; or
  • A master's or doctorate degree with active Colorado licensure in psychology, mental health, addiction counseling, social work, or equivalent in good standing (examples: LMFT, LAC, LPC, or LCSW); or
  • Advanced certification in behavioral health, addiction medicine, employee assistance professional, or equivalent national credentialing from professional organizations; and/or
  • Advanced medical or nursing degree with active Colorado license in good standing.
  • Minimum 8 years of work experience with professionals in the legal, clinical, behavioral health, educational, and/or medical fields, or as a director, program coordinator, supervisor, office manager, high-level administrator, or similar role.
