Executive Director of the Network for Social Justice, Winchester, MA The Network is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 1991 (as the Winchester Multicultural Network). Our mission is to foster a movement for systemic change to advance equity and inclusion in the town of Winchester and beyond. We seek an Executive Director with a deep commitment to and understanding of social justice issues, expertise in community education, advocacy, and communicating across differences, and experience with fundraising. Job Responsibilities Programming : Provide leadership and management to implement programming to educate, engage and advocate for the advancement of social justice. Fundraising and financial management : Identify and cultivate funding sources to diversify and expand the donor and funding base; prepare or review grant applications and funding proposals; manage grant compliance and reporting; and oversee additional fundraising activities. Develop annual budget and long-term financial plans; implement the budget in collaboration with the Board. Strategic planning : Guide the organization in fulfilling the existing strategic plan and collaboratively develop new strategies and plans to support the ongoing growth of the organization. Office management and staffing : Manage office systems; hire and supervise staff; oversee administrative responsibilities; oversee the recruitment, training, and coordination of volunteers. Meet regularly with committee chairs. Professional development : Participate in ongoing training focused on addressing both individual and systemic biases, and on communicating effectively across differences. Arrange for and/or provide such trainings for staff, volunteers, and Board members. Reporting : Report regularly to the Board President, and monthly to the full Board about programs and plans. Desired Skills, Abilities, and Experience Passionate commitment to social change. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking. Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to interact professionally, warmly and openly in individual and group settings with people of different races, ethnicities, ages, genders, sexuality, and class. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Experience working collaboratively with an activist Board, staff, and volunteers. Experience working collaboratively with local and regional social justice organizations. Proven ability to secure funding for special programs and general operations, including grant writing and compliance. Experience with marketing and public relations. Knowledge of literature and research on issues of diversity, equity, inclusion, and social justice advocacy. Computer, website, internet, and social media skills including use of Power Point, spreadsheet and composition applications, Constant Contact. Hours and Compensation: Within an average of 40 hours per week, flexible scheduling will typically include most weekdays in the NFSJ office, 1-3 evenings/month, and program support on some weekends. Salary in the range of $80,000 - $100,000, commensurate with experience, plus health insurance and leave benefits.
