About Meals on Wheels

Meals on Wheels, Bluffton-Hilton Head, has been providing hot, nutritious meals to, and mitigating the social isolation of, clients in need, regardless of their ability to pay, since 1979. We have been committed to delivering daily meals and reducing isolation of elderly, ill, disabled, and homebound individuals. Our team of passionate employees and volunteers works tirelessly to create a positive change in the lives of those we serve.

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Executive Director to lead our organization enter its next phase of growth. The ideal candidate will be a visionary leader with a strong commitment to addressing food insecurity, exceptional management skills, and a proven history in nonprofit administration, fundraising, and community engagement.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership and Vision: Assist the board in setting a strategic direction and overall vision for the organization; ensure alignment of programs and activities within our mission.

Fundraising and Development: Develop and implement comprehensive strategies; cultivate relationships with donors, foundations, and community partners.

Financial Management: Oversee the financial health of the organization, ensuring fiscal responsibility, sound budgeting, and effective resource allocation.

Board Relations: Work closely with the Board of Directors, providing support and guidance to facilitate governance and strategic decision-making.

Community Engagement: Function as the primary spokesperson for the organization; represent Meals on Wheels at public events, meetings, and conferences.

Team Management: Lead a small, dedicated staff; promote a culture of teamwork, collaboration, and high performance.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field

Minimum 5 years' experience in a leadership position with a nonprofit organization

Strong financial acumen, including budgeting and financial reporting

Excellent communication and people skills, with the ability to engage and inspire diverse stakeholders

What we offer

Salary: $80,000+
