The Executive Director oversees key areas, including Membership, Wellness, Aquatics, Sports, Family and Youth Programs, Facility Management, and Community Engagement. Our newest Family Center, Leonard & Marjorie Williams YMCA is in the up-and-coming Packing District! This 33,000-square-foot state-of-the-art facility utilizes high-end wellness technology, has a boutique fitness studio, and provides services for all generations to enjoy. - Manage the Family Center's operational budget to achieve positive financial results, positive revenue growth and EBIDA targets.
- Recruit, select, develop and retain appropriate skill depth level of department leads for the Family Center. Supervise department leadership and Family Center staff. Establish training and career succession plan for department leads.
- Provide leadership to Family Center staff through establishment of high-performance goals and standards, regular assessment of staff performance including annual performance evaluations, and staff meetings.
- Guide positive growth in Family Center member retention through activity usage and participation in the core programs of Wellness, Aquatics, Sports, Family Programs, and Volunteers.
- Develop and implement quality programs and schedules to meet the needs of members. Encourage and listen to member feedback to improve program quality.
- Maximize facility and equipment usage during operating hours. Manage and maintain clean facilities, property, and equipment within the Family Center.
- Collaborate with Association resources to ensure Family Center Annual Campaign initiatives are executed to grow impact, revenue, donors, and volunteers.
- Engage, recruit and develop key community leaders for the Family Center volunteer advisory board. Maintain contacts with political, business, and civic leaders, as well as community groups and schools to develop a diverse and inclusive volunteer structure.
- Serve as a member of the Association Management Team to support and impact the overall objectives of the Association.
- Ensure that liability employee and member risk exposures are identified and resolved within the Family Center. Ensure all staff are current with required certifications.
- Report all accidents/incidents and follow the Association's current employee and member injury reporting procedures.
- All other duties as assigned by management
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in operations management in health and wellness or similar industry experience required.
- Minimum of 3 years progressively responsible experience with fiscal management; including budget development, revenue growth, member retention, fund raising, program management, community relationship building, required.
- Experience in working closely with volunteers required; board leadership and/or volunteer leadership committees highly preferred.
- Microsoft Office proficiency required. With the ability to learn and adapt to new technology.
- Ability to understand, adapt to and interact with diverse people, teams, perspectives and cultures.
- Must obtain within 60 days of employment and then maintain current certifications in CPR, First Aid, AED and Oxygen Administration.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
- Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, which may include weekends and holidays as needed.
- Must be willing to work an on-call schedule rotation as required.
- Must be willing to travel within Central Florida. Must have a valid Driver license. The employee is required to have visual acuity to operate motor vehicles.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
- The physical activities of this position include: stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, and repetitive motions. Talking is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels, with or without correction.
- Required to sit or stand for extended periods of time while demonstrating manual dexterity in order to accurately work on the phone, computer keyboard, and other equipment.
- The employee must be able to perform light work: exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
- The employee is required to have close visual acuity, along with the visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned, preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing, viewing a computer screen, extensive reading, or to make general observations of facilities or structures.
- Must possess auditory and verbal capabilities in order to adequately communicate via phone and in person.
- The employee is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
