Executive Director of Budget & Financial Planning
POSITION DETAILS
Reporting to the Vice President of Administration & Finance, the Executive Director of Budget & Financial Planning is expected to provide leadership and direction in the management of the following financial and business operational units: Accounting, Accounts Payable, Budget, Bursar, and Procurement. Additionally, the Executive Director will be responsible for administering the college's budgets, including non-tax levy programs and related entities. The Executive Director will also be responsible for creating, reviewing, implementing and maintaining the college's finance and accounting policies and procedures.
The Executive Director's responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
* Administration of all college budgets, that include various sources and funding vehicles such as Tax Levy, Student Activity Fees, Foundation, Auxiliary etc.
* Formulating, preparing, and monitoring annual financial plans; preparing and managing financial reporting; developing and implementing systems to create and manage revenues and expenses; overseeing internal and external financial audits. Reviewing budget allocations and expenditures with administrative and academic departments
* Serve as the college's liaison to appropriate University, City, State and Federal agencies
* Provide analyses to inform resource allocations and operational planning
* Sets college financial policies in the areas of Procurement, Accounting, and Accounts Payable and Budget
* Ensures compliance with all appropriate City, State, Federal, and GAAP accounting and regulatory requirements
* Recommends and implements strategies and plans to help assure that the college attains its financial objectives
* Develop and monitor the strategic and operational assessment plans for the office
* Synthesize complex information into presentations and reports for various audiences
* Recruit, motivate, direct, and supervise staff of planning and budget professionals to achieve these objectives.
* Represent the College in CUNY & College committees as assigned.
* Performs other related duties as assigned by the Vice President of Administration & Finance

QUALIFICATIONS
This position is in CUNY's Executive Compensation Plan. All executive positions require a minimum of a Bachelor's degree and eight years' related experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience in managerial and leadership roles with a significant and steady record of accomplishment
* Strong proficiency using CUNYfirst (PeopleSoft) finance modules, Microsoft Office Suite, and other financial software solutions
* Extensive financial experience, preferably in higher education.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills and analytic problem-solving skills with the ability to think innovative ways regarding financial matters that impact the College.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
$148,000 - $155,000; Salary commensurate with education and experience.
