Reference #: 24003284 Description Grade:T29The link below will give you information about the University's T salary structure.Learn more about the T salary structure.A variety of important factors are reviewed by HR when considering salary, including job duties, the applicant's education and experience, all relevant internal equity considerations, department budget, and funding source.Summary:Under the direction of the Associate Vice President for Development, the Executive Director (ED) will play a pivotal role in planning and executing the annual fundraising goal with the responsibility for the management of five fundraising teams, establishing ambitious fundraising goals and developing performance metrics for those development units and staff to drive efficiency and maximize philanthropic support. The Executive Director will serve as a senior strategic advisor and manager of development officers and campus partners to help create and execute donor strategies, working directly with the dean/director and chief development officer for each unit, as well as other Institutional Advancement team members, faculty members, and key school, college and university volunteers. The ED will also serve as interim leadership for all school-based IA efforts during gaps in leadership at the Assistant Dean level. The ED will also lead the internal development training program, creating a structured, multi-faceted program of training opportunities to support the professional development of the entire fundraising staff. Leading by example, the Executive Director maintains a portfolio of approximately 40 principal and major gift prospects with an expectation of cultivating and maintaining donor relationships for those with capacity for gifts of $250,000 or greater. To successfully execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy at Temple, the Executive Director and associated fundraisers work closely with centrally based colleagues, including Principal Gifts, Gift Planning, Corporate and Foundation Relations, Alumni Relations, Annual Giving, Advancement Services, and Donor Relations and Stewardship. Performs other duties as assigned.Required Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree and at least seven years of fundraising experience with a proven track record of closing six to seven figure gifts.Demonstrated leadership and staff management experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.Required skills and abilities: *Strong verbal and written communications skills. *Demonstrated knowledge of Excel and Access. *Ability to organize multiple projects and work in an environment including diverse groups of faculty, staff, alumni, donors, and students. *Must be a highly energetic, organized, and enthusiastic professional with a track record of building donor relationships. *Ability to take initiative to work collaboratively and strategically, with a strong knowledge of principles, ethics and practices of successful fundraising. *Excellent interpersonal skills along with the ability to interact with a diverse group of constituents both inside and outside the university. *Knowledge of planned giving techniques and programs available to implement such gifts. *Entrepreneurial skills in identifying donors, cultivating meaningful relationships, and constructing creative gifting opportunities and agreements. *Demonstrated creativity and strategic thinking with the ability to take initiative and the willingness to learn *Ability to make policy decisions, when necessary, multi-task, set priorities, adapt to changes and meet deadlines *Ability to understand and work with budgetary procedures and policies. *Willingness and ability to travel and work evening and weekend hours.
