About the OrganizationPrincetonians for Free Speech (PFS) was created by a group of Princeton alumni with the mission of promoting free speech and academic freedom at Princeton, as well as other universities.
PFS works closely with faculty and student groups supporting free speech, free thought, academic freedom, and viewpoint diversity. PFS gives the many Princetonians who support free speech and academic freedom a mechanism to make their voices heard and to work together with others who feel the same way.
PFS' founders bring significant experience and thought leadership to the organization. In addition to their work for Princeton alumni, they have played a pivotal role in forming the origination of the Alumni Free Speech Alliance (AFSA), a consortium of over 30 national universities, including Princeton, focused on strengthening free speech on their campuses. Additionally, PFS' founders serve on the Board of the American Council of Trustees and Alumni (ACTA) and have been widely published in major periodicals such as the Wall Street Journal, providing leading commentary on free speech.
PFS continues to work closely with alumni free speech groups from other schools, and with the largest nonprofit organizations supporting campus free speech and related values – notably, the Foundation for Individual Rights and Expression and ACTA.
