Position Summary:This position manages an Assisted Living Care Community for the elderly and disabled. This position helps to fulfill the mission of Eskaton by managing an assisted living building of 94 (22 special care units and 72 assisted living units) attractive and reasonably priced living units with additional shared common space.

The starting salary for this position ranges from $102,900 to $144,180 annually. Factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations may influence base pay offered.

Position Responsibilities include:

  • Develops, implements, and maintains policies and procedures incorporating federal and state regulations and Eskaton policies to assure that client care is of the highest quality.
  • Develops, implements, and monitors budget and staffing systems which will ensure effective and efficient use of financial and human resources.
  • In consultation with the Corporate Consulting Services, the incumbent analyzes current nursing concerns and develops and implements new programs which meet the needs of the clients. Maintains programs in line with Eskaton's long-range goals and objectives.
  • Maintains contact with physicians as necessary according to clients' needs, community policies, and governmental regulations.
  • Ensures excellent client and employee satisfaction.
  • Ensures the continuance of Eskaton's excellent reputation throughout the local community by providing quality resident care and maintaining positive interactions with the local community through public relations and marketing.
  • Develops and meets annual goals and objectives for the community considering future growth and changing environmental, market, and other trends.
  • Ensures implementation of all Eskaton and community policies and procedures.
  • Ensures the financial viability of the community by meeting operational targets.
  • Participates in the development of contracts with resources in the community, qualified to provide services required for diagnostic and therapeutic services, prescribed by the patient's physician.
  • Maintains current knowledge of appropriate federal, state, local, and other governmental regulations and requirements and assumes responsibility for compliance.
  • Maintains the physical plant in a functional, aesthetically pleasing, and safe manner.
  • Works with corporate resources to ensure occupancy at or above target levels.
  • Ensures organizational maintenance of appropriate licensure and certifications.
  • Oversees the relationship with the community volunteers who make up the membership of Eskaton and its fundraising arm, the Eskaton Foundation.

Qualifications:This position requires a minimum of five years of administrative experience with three years in an administrative or nursing management role and experience in geriatric, rehabilitation, or psychiatric nursing; requires current knowledge of federal, state and local regulations related to all levels of skilled nursing healthcare; required keeping abreast of current trends and new developments in nursing and healthcare administration.

It requires effective verbal and literary communication skills to interact with all levels of management, other employees, and outside contacts; requires effective managerial and inter-personal skills; requires excellent fiscal and budgetary skills and the ability to plan, organize, and implement work and be flexible enough to shift priorities quickly and work under pressure with constantly changing demands.

Education:A minimum of a B.A. degree is required, and a valid California nursing home administration license.

Physical Effort and Working Conditions:Physical demands vary from sedentary activities to hands-on resident care which includes lifting, bending from the waist, stopping, and twisting as conditions warrant. May include infrequent maximum assists of residents over 100 lbs. Objects or residents weighing more than 50 pounds should not be moved without the assistance of another worker and/or appropriate equipment.

Hours of duty may be long and irregular, including some evenings and weekends. May be exposed to potentially dangerous chemicals.

The final candidate must successfully pass Eskaton's post offer, pre-employment testing which includes a criminal background check, drug test, COVID test, TB screen test and health screen. All new hires are required to sign an arbitration agreement as a condition of employment.
