The role will be responsible for various accounting tasks, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and company policies whilst assisting in all aspects of accounting and internal controls for our North American entities.Responsibilities / Essential Job Functions
- Participate in monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities including:
- Maintain and reconcile the general ledger accounts.
- Record journal entries and ensure proper documentation.
- Prepare monthly bank and balance sheet account reconciliations; investigate reconciling items.
- Assist in reviews of journal entries, reconciliations, and financial results to ensure accuracy of information.
- Assist in expense analysis and budget tracking.
- Assist with the external audits & tax return preparation, providing information and explanations as needed.
- Help deliver scalabilities and efficiencies in the close process through systemic solutions & better use of technology.
- Complete ad hoc special projects and analysis as requested.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and other Microsoft Office applications required.
- Ability to manage and drive multiple processes and deliverables at once in a dynamic environment.
- Highly detail oriented and organized.
- High degree of intellectual curiosity, hungry to learn.
- Ability to present results/actions in a concise and timely manner.
- Collaborative team player with excellent communication and strong interpersonal skills.
- NetSuite experience is preferred but not required.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
- Public accounting experience (Big 4 or National Firm), preferred.
- 4+ years of public and/or corporate accounting experience required.
- Hands-on experience in a fast-paced financial services or professional services firm preferred.
