Job Description:
Expected Compensation for this role is $95,000 plus 20% Bonus Participation Arch Amenities Group (AAG) is seeking a seasoned senior leader to direct overall operations at the Skaneateles Community Center. This role carries the overall responsibility for the direction, operation, and success of the center, and will exemplify our standards and champion a culture of wellness, community, and engagement while providing a happy and healthy environment for our members. The new General Manager will join a talented collection of professionals at the world's largest amenities management firm. These individuals have chosen Arch to develop their career and to develop their skillsets amongst the best group of wellness professionals in the world. The General Manager will ensure the club meets or exceeds financial goals, while providing remarkable leadership in areas of customer service, team member relations, sales, in-center business performance, and member participation. The GM will also provide daily support, leadership, motivation, and development to about 150 team members. The GM is responsible for coaching, communication, alignment, and holding Department Managers accountable to Arch Amenities performance standards. The GM will also act as AAG's ambassador to the client and the community and build the reputation of the club through demonstrated actions. Specific Responsibilities:
  • Leadership: Perform daily walk throughs to ensure the facility is in optimal condition, members have exactly what they need, and employees are engaged in their roles, understand their impact and provide the highest possible level of service.
  • Continuous Improvement: Review employee engagement data and customer satisfaction feedback and leverage that data to lead improvements to the club and results.
  • Reporting and Communication: Deliver regular management reports and create a structure in which s/he is giving and receiving critical information to employees, members, client and AAG leadership. Be open to feedback and use that feedback to improve.
  • Financial Discipline: Manage all paperwork and financial performance in accordance with policy and guidelines. Analyze labor costs and submit all payroll and financial reporting on time and with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Team Building and Engagement: Envision, recruit and build a world class team. Meet one-one with each Department leader on a regular basis. Reserve that time to ensure they have all the information, tools, feedback and training that they need to accelerate the overall vision with their teams, and to grow in their careers. Develop those leaders to construct succession paths to key roles.
  • Proficiency with Technology: Learn all AAG people, financial, marketing and sales systems to leverage their power to accelerate your results. Use those systems to ensure compliance with all state licensing and health and employment requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in health fitness or business management field
  • Minimum of 5 years supervisory experience in a large multi-amenity facility or multi-unit retail enterprise.
  • Demonstrated track record of financial success including implementing and achieving strategy goals, hitting membership targets and employee and member satisfaction goals.
  • Must be able to perform duties typical of a health and fitness facility including lifting and moving lifting equipment (25-45 lbs).

  • Effective leadership skills and strong work ethic
  • Personal Training and or certifications associated with the industry are highly desirable
  • The employee is regularly required to stand for long periods of time, use hands to finger, stoop, kneel, walk, handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms
  • Available to work nights, weekends, and holidays
