Job DetailsDescriptionThe Executive Director is responsible for the oversight of the Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC), including ensuring optimum quality care is delivered to the patients while in the surgery center. This includes strategic planning, day-to-day operations, physician relations, and obtaining financial, quality, and supply benchmarks. We are open to clinical and non-clinical applicants.This is a full-time position working M-F from 8:00 am - 4:30 pm out of our Crosstown Surgery Center.Twin Cities Orthopedics is an operating division of Infinite Health Collaborative (i-Health), a group of local medical practices, owned and led by its physicians, on a mission to give patients more control over their healthcare.   • Direct the day-to-day activities and operations of the Center in conjunction with nursing leadership.
  • Assist in developing and effectively communicate with Vice President of ASC Operations, Medical Director and Governing Body regarding all Center business, including but not limited to operating budget, long term capital expenditure plans, Center's goals and objectives, standards of practice, policy and procedure manual and written job descriptions for all personnel.
  • Seek assistance from the Vice President of ASC Operations and nursing leadership in solving clinical and management problems. Document issues and help develop clinical protocols that best serve the Center's patients.
  • Recruit, hire, and train new employees according to established guidelines. Monitor, coach, develop, and evaluate performance of staff on an ongoing basis. Collaborate with Human Resource Business Partner to ensure the oversight of all employees is consistent and to the highest regard.
  • Foster and maintain a collegial relationship with physicians, vendors, managers, and employees.
  • Collaborate in negotiation of vendor contracts and ensure that all equipment and supply issues are properly addressed. Responsible for maintaining adequate supplies and equipment and ensuring cost-effective utilization.
  • Analyze the Center's financial reports (staffing, income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow statement); communicate with physicians and (if applicable) health system partner financial outcomes of the Center. Prepare and maintain operating, capital, and cash budgets for the Center.
  • Assist with planning, implementing and maintenance of patient safety, quality and infection control programs. Actively participate in Quality projects, as applicable. Identify issues & assist in collection of data for Quality purposes. Contribute ideas for improvement.
  • Attend required meetings & participate on committees as directed. Assist in establishing and enforcing continuous quality improvement data collection and activities.
  • Effectively maintain records, reports and logs to meet accreditation requirements. Ensure compliance with federal and state guidelines and accrediting agencies.
  • Assure compliance with hazardous waste standards, radiation safety standards, state and federal regulations, and all other applicable clinical related standards (e.g. AORN, ASPAN, AAAHC, JCAHO, CMS CfC's, etc.)
  • Monitor patient satisfaction benchmarks, following up with patient complaints and service concerns.
  • Ensure all policies and procedures of the Center are accurate, up-to-date, and appropriately utilized.
  • Identify, evaluate, and implement new initiatives when appropriate.
  • Serve as a liaison between the Center, the community, and local healthcare providers.
  • Contribute personally to the “team oriented” environment by demonstrating cooperative, constructive, problem-solving interaction with all Surgery Center employees.
  • Provide timely and professional responses and communications to physicians, leadership, staff, and patients, via email and phone.
  • Any and all other duties as assigned.
Education And Experience Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree required, Master's Degree in Healthcare or Business Administration is preferred OR graduate of an NLN accredited school of registered nursing. BSN preferred.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of surgery center management experience.
  • Experience obtaining and maintaining Medicare certification through AAAHC, Joint Commission, or other ASC accrediting body.
  • Strong knowledge of state licensure, CMS regulations, and accreditation standards related to an ambulatory surgery center.
  • If Clinical:
  • Current licensure as a RN in the state of MN or WI multi-state required. Current CPR certification required.

  • Demonstrate prompt and reliable attendance.
  • Work in the clinic, office or surgery center during business hours.
  • Travel independently throughout the clinic, office or surgery center (which may include movement from floor to floor); frequent bending, lifting, standing, stooping or sitting for long periods of time may be required.
  • Frequent lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds with occasional lifting and moving of a maximum of 50 pounds may be required.
  • Work at an efficient and productive pace, handle interruptions appropriately and meet deadlines.
  • Communicate and interact in a respectful and professional manner.
  • Prioritize workload while being flexible to meet the expectations of the daily operations.
  • Apply principles of logical thinking to define problems, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Understand and execute a variety of instructions.
  • Effectively operate equipment and communicate on and operate the phone system.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Travel to other work locations, if required.
