This position will report to the Director of the Massey Comprehensive Cancer Center.

The Robert A. Winn Diversity in Clinical Trials: Career Development Award (Winn CDA) is a transformative two-year program dedicated to supporting the career development of early-stage investigator physicians. It prepares them to become independent clinical trial investigators focused on advancing health equity through their research and mentoring. To ensure the program's success and long-term impact, it is essential to appoint a highly qualified individual at an executive level who will oversee and manage the program's various components.

This leadership role is crucial for the following reasons:

Comprehensive Oversight and Strategic Leadership (30%)

Given the complexity and significance of the Winn CDA program, an ED is needed to provide comprehensive oversight and strategic leadership. The ED will ensure that the program remains aligned with its mission to advance health equity by fostering the development of clinical trial investigators committed to this cause. This person will be responsible for working with founders on setting and implementing a long-term vision that enhances the program's reach and effectiveness on a national scale.

Fundraising and Resource Development (20%)

The sustainability and expansion of the Winn CIPP/CDA program depends on a robust fundraising strategy. The ED will work with the ED, CIPP, Cancer Center Director and the Director, Philanthropy for Winn Awards on the development and execution of a comprehensive fundraising plan for both CIPP/CDA to secure financial support from diverse sources specifically pharmaceutical companies.

Marketing and Communications (10%)

Effective marketing and communications are essential to raise awareness about the Winn CIPP/CDA program and attract top-tier candidates. The ED will work with the ED, CIPP, Cancer Center Director and Director, Marketing for Winn Awards, in the creation and implementation of a strategic marketing and communications plan that highlights the both program's unique focus on advancing health equity and its potential impact on public health. By leveraging various media channels and strategic partnerships both of the EDs will ensure that the programs (CIPP/CDA) reach a wide audience, including potential applicants, funders, and the medical community.

Application, Review, and Tracking Process (5%)

The ED will oversee the application process for CDA to ensure a rigorous and equitable selection of candidates who are committed to advancing health equity. This includes overseeing the review process, implementing best practices for candidate selection, and establishing a tracking system to monitor the progress of awardees throughout the program. This person's meticulous approach will ensure that the program attracts and supports the most promising early-stage investigators.

Curriculum Development (15%)

The Winn CDA program's curriculum must be both innovative and comprehensive, addressing the unique challenges faced by early-stage investigators working to advance health equity. This person will be responsible for developing and updating the annual curriculum for the two-year program, ensuring it provides cutting-edge research opportunities, practical training, and mentorship. Their expertise in curriculum development will be vital in preparing participants for leadership roles as independent clinical trial investigators and as leaders in other fields related to the goals of the program.

Evaluation, KPI Development, and Data Analysis (15%)

To measure the Winn CDA program's success and impact, it is essential to establish a robust evaluation process. The ED will lead the development of key performance indicators (KPIs) and oversee the collection and analysis of data to assess the program's effectiveness. This data-driven approach will allow for continuous improvement and demonstrate the program's value to stakeholders, including funders and the broader medical community.

Alumni Engagement and Network Development (5%)

Building a strong alumni network is crucial for the long-term success of the Winn CDA program. The ED will Collaborate with the ED, CIPP to develop and implement a comprehensive alumni engagement strategy that fosters ongoing professional development, collaboration, and mentorship among both program graduates. This network will serve as a valuable resource for current participants and amplify the program's overall impact on advancing health equity.
