Job Responsibilities The Executive Director of Workforce Development provides leadership for the College's Workforce Training and Economic Development and is responsible for planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating corporate and community education programs and activities. Reporting to the Community Enhancement and Workforce Development position, the Executive Director collaborates closely with other internal departments, faculty, and staff to ensure the effective development, execution, and delivery of non-credit and continuing education offerings. Provides leadership and management of workforce development at SCC. -Monitor programs and enrollment trends to ensure effective use of workforce development labor and other allocated resources; conduct periodic reviews of existing programs; and develop and recommend new projects, programs, and procedures to improve and enhance services to the community. Provides leadership for planning future activities/programs/expansion of services. Manages college resources required to implement plans; evaluates progress toward achieving these goals; recommends appropriate changes. -Develop and maintain relationships with business and community organizations within the service area. Serve as a consultant to business and industry to determine training needs. Serve as the workforce development liaison to external organizations. - Coordinate and oversee all college services, including, but not limited to, course scheduling, course registration, support functions, and equipment maintenance. Communicates appropriately and effectively with key personnel to ensure quality programs and services for the college community. Responsible for the development, coordination, and distribution of the workforce development course schedules. Work closely with the other areas, including Dean's and faculty, to coordinate programming. Screen, secure, and facilitate permanent faculty and staff instruction and credentialing. - Lead the marketing efforts to promote all community programs. Promotes programs and services by developing a marketing plan in collaboration with SCC's Public Relations and Marketing Department and Workforce Training and Economic Development. - Plan and manage the workforce development budgets, under the guidance of the Community Enhancement and Workforce Development supervisor, to meet revenue and expense targets. Manage the department as a self-sustaining profit center, meeting profit goals. -Complete required reports. Ensure that the division stays compliant with SCC, state, SACS, and federal requirements. Tech system liaison for Continuing Education and Workforce Development. - Supervision - provides leadership and supervision to employees in teaching and non-teaching roles. Ensures all faculty and staff focus on the success of campus goals through professional development, training, continuous improvement, recruiting, and retention of talent. Minimum and Additional Requirements Master's degree in a related discipline plus 6 years of progressively responsible related work experience.
